(...) The thing is, all these Lego light/electric items are really expensive. Single lights will cost $3-5, and a cable will be $2-$4. (...) Have you found a new supply of these parts! As far as I can tell, TLC is steadily withdrawing support for the 9v electrical parts. And I would recommend the following be added to your list as well Electric plates - 5037 that way you can more easily hide things, the wires work but it's hard to sometimes hide them (22 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

I'm looking to add some simple electronics to my LEGO layouts -- a porch light here, a motorized gizmo there, nothing fancy. I don't want to invest in a train set just yet. (...) The scale modeling crowd also uses Future floor polish as a gloss-coat. I'm not sure if it would stand up to the rigors of playing with the sprayed part, though. That's right, I'm trying to think of ways to duplicate the look of actual Lego printing as closely as possible, and the paper labels are just too jarring - even with photoshop-printed paper labels we have to do a bunch of post-printing work to (...) (...) Ah, I see. Terminology is sloppy - I use glossy photo paper myself, and Elmer's Washable Glue Stick (and colored pencils so that the edges aren't glaringly white). So I don't use decal, film, or glue-backed paper in actuality, though I call (...) (22 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod)
