    I can't hear you ........ —Shaun Sullivan
Way too quiet 'round here. Makes me antsy. And makes the days longer at work. Somebody needs to bring up a topic for discussion. Anybody? Anybody? -s (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Eric Joslin
(...) Umm. Why doesn't LEGO make an "Industrial Revolution" theme? It would be a great way to explore a time period they haven't done yet, and the theme's gimmick could be that each set came with a big machine built out of Technic-type pieces. Well. (...)       (...) *I* agree... and it would be a bridge between "regular" LEGO and Technic J.- (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) pieces. (...) That's an interesting idea, and they'd get some crossover as well between the two play systems. They already seem to have some appropriate minifig accessories, too ... the top hat, for example, would be everywhere. Horses and (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

      (...) heh... a river steamboat? nice old-fasioned houses... I like it! (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Jim Green
(...) Actually #5 is part of a 4-set multipack entitled "Consumption Clinic". Other included sets are: "Gross Anatomy" with the highly sought after cadaver minifig; "Bedside Manner"... a patient and nurse minifig combo that comes with a 2 x 2 round (...)       (...) What's really interesting about these sets is that they are the first time the new "rat" piece has been used outside of the Harry Potter sets... and LEGO must have had a bunch left over, judging by the numbers that seem to come with each of (...)          Re: I can't hear you ........ —Eric Joslin
(...) Ah, see, that's the hidden joke with the "Industrial revolution" sets... for extra play value, minifig hands, arms, and legs are all easily removable. Heh. eric (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Wayne McCaul
Alrighty then, I got a question. Why do you guys exclude magic from your BrikWar games? Is it too powerful? I understand that the suppliments are broken (?) but I think someone said that you could construct magic from the basic rules (I haven't (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Shaun Sullivan
(...) Well, it turns out that the current system for incorporating magic is somewhat broken (I guess Mike's not a god after all, seem that gods usually get it right on the first try. Unless you're talking the Greek/Roman Pantheon, I suppose. Or (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —James Howse
(...) My first reaction was to say "No he wouldn't!". Then I thought for a bit... the name Moria sprang to mind. Sure enough, running from a horde there. But only for the safety of the group and the ring. Just before the exit, he turns and stands (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Wayne McCaul
In lugnet.org.us.nelug, James Howse writes: <Big Snip> (...) Oh I like the silliness. The last game I played -set on the Moon during the Cold War- we had two particularly silly events. One, a bomber pilot got hit, but instead of doing damage, the (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Shaun Sullivan
(...) The bathroom gig has happened to me twice - it's very irritating! Abondoning the safety of your mech to answer your bladder is humiliating. Eric Joslin has some uncanny knack for causing that to happen. Last game, there were two champions on (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Eric Joslin
(...) Hah. You think *you* don't like it? I want stuff to blow up, not sending Pilots on potty breaks. Blow up! Blow up! BLOW UP! eric (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —Shaun Sullivan
(...) I (...) I agree in part ... but didn't Gandalf become tired as he cast spells, or as the spells became more powerful? And certainly some of them required various amounts of time to cast, as he had to speak incantations. I agree that part of (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: I can't hear you ........ —David Eaton
(...) Just to examplify (example-ify, mind you) Shaun's reply, the magic rules were far too powerful and unbalanced. Ex #1: As I recall there's no near misses. In fact, there's really not much in the way of missing. Neil had a reaper-knight-guy who (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
