I agree 100%.

People here are now complaining about the tone that the Brickfest planners have
posted with in order to protect their name. To that I say, lighten up people.
I had a lengthy discussion with most of the major Brickfest planners about this
issue on Sunday night at an AFOL's house in DC after the fest was over and
everyone went home. I understand the hard work they have put into making
Brickfest what it is, and want to see them continue to put on top quality
events. I also understand how frustrating it is to have things you work on be
used out of context (there's a bit of that in the LDraw community with the words
'L-CAD' and even substituting 'MLCad' for what really falls under 'LDraw' - but
I'll whine about that some other time).
The Brickfest planners have no desire to impede on the formation of a west coast
event. In fact, I think that if they were approached, they'd probably be happy
to lend some pointers, do's and dont's, that they've come across along the way.
I hope that no one's feelings are too hard over this.
I guess that people can learn from this not to use names casually, especially
ones that stand for something someone/a group of people have put a lot of hard
work into.
