Re: Creating a GBC for a train layout

(...) Absolutely. I was thinking more along the lines of how many clubs could allow us to "rent track" through their layout if we used 8-wide? I'm still trying to figure out how to run two trains on one track and *ABSOLUTELY* not collide them - (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) OK, I think it's been moderated. Pictures of the first 3T get-together: (URL) Grey & yellow gantry with pick-and-place arm. Slow (10-30 sec / move), but could clear the board. Kirby's: Red & black with three long "fingers" to sense cubes, and (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: pumpkin chuckin' LEGO style

(...) Hi John, Calum and Iain have played with lego trebuchets here: (URL) a video here: (URL) 11. megs. throwing stuff can be fun. Chris (19 years ago, 4-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: Creating a GBC for a train layout

(...) Some clubs build 8 wide trains. We could be one. :) Actually, many the trains have decoration that sticks out that wide. I've had to make changes to the engines I'm using so they don't trigger the train sensor. That won't be a problem. (...) (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  pumpkin chuckin' LEGO style

Ok, I just finished watching a show about siege machines on The History Channel. At the end they talked about the annual Pumpkin Chuckin' contest held in Delaware where regular joes build machines to compete to see who can throw/launch a pumpkin the (...)   Re: Creating a GBC for a train layout

(...) Agreed. (...) Yes. I've got this on most of my modules, but would develop it a lot more for a train layout. At ChiBots I even had one minifig who had fallen off of the top level, and was being held over the roiling ball stream below only by (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Creating a GBC for a train layout

We were talking about this off line, and I'd like to continue this discussion on-line. We're trying to figure out how to make a GBC that looks like it should be part of a train layout. (...) Right. (...) The problem is actually getting paint that (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) Yes, I do. However I also only have a dial-up connection at the moment, so we'll see how long this takes (like, all day). I'll update here with deeplinks when availible. (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) Yes, Steve's was the smallest, and fastest, and the only one that was completely on a 32x32 (and a road baseplate at that). It brought to mind a black cubistic turtle, and was the only one of the three that attatched to the board on the side (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) I'm not exactly sure the size, but it was smaller than the others. I think it was the only one that was attached to only a 32x32 baseplate. (...) It carries five cubes, checks three cells, and was somewhat fast. I'm not sure the exact time per (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) You should check out ITT Industries. We have a lot going on here in Fort Wayne in the Aerospace / Communications Division...If you submit a resume, put my name on it as a referral (the referral bonus would buy a few toys). I think we are (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) And just how small is your robot? Since I couldn't make it (I had to spend the evening with my evil step mother), I didn't get to see anything. If your robot is small, does it hold all the cubes or pick one up at a time while awaiting your (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

(...) Or Toronto Canada... We have a few robotics enthusiasts AND socialized health care. :) Glad to see you guys doing this. Cant wait for the pics Chris (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

(...) You guys have too much fun! Imagine living somewhere where there are robotics enthusiasts within 100 miles. JB (19 years ago, 3-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  3T

Well, we had a nice gathering in preparation for our Tic tac toe challenge. We there were several games played. Many of the games had a winning robot, while others ended in a draw. I think we all learned something. About half the robots are going to (...) (19 years ago, 2-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: 3T

(...) Well - I actually timed my robot this afternoon. The average move is actually 5 seconds...and, it may be a little longer before I am done as I might put some "dancing" in the mechanism to ensure the cube is properly deposited. We'll just have (...)   Re: 3T

(...) All of them :) Not sure on the total count, but it is something like 14 4 stud gear racks and 3 of the long gear racks (8 stud??). Two rows of racks for my forward and back motion help keep the robot going perfectly straight (until a cube (...) (19 years ago, 1-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, FTX)

  Re: 3T

(...) Well, sort of. You seem to be using a light sensor to read a mechanical system, not observe the blocks themselves <grin>. And, as my post implied, I ended up with a mechanical system. It's just it doesn't allow all the fun stuff I wanted it to (...) (19 years ago, 1-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, FTX)
