Check out the NALUG layout at the Edmonton show

For anyone who missed it, pics of the Northern Alberta Lego Users Group layout at the Edmonton Trains 2000 show are up at (URL) Brown) and (URL) Maynes) They didn't have a big layout, especially, nor is it as polished as a PNLTC or GMLTC (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

(...) Hmm, you're right. I forgot about the water/dock parts. :) I've got 6542 Launch and Load Seaport!! (If we need it) (...) One question: how big of a castle? (...) Hm, you're right again. I don't know how many original Lego sets we should (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

Here's my 2¢... 1. I'd love to build something, but my LEGO is in piles... one unwashed, one clean, one partially sorted. That which isn't in piles is partially sorted into ziplocks and other containers. Either way, it's not "build-able" for me. The (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

(...) I think we should size it by what we can fill, rather than the other way around. Actually when you start throwing together monorail track, train track AND a dock with boats, space gets eaten up rather fast. (...) I think we could use the idea (...)   Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

(...) Weeknights I can do: Mon, Tues or Fri. Thurs is a Maybe. Earlier is better (they are already pretty much full and it would be a shame to apply at the last minute and get told there's not room left). (...) Indeedy. If it was just Dean and I on (...)   Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

Hi, I have several comments to make at this point: I think that the question regarding how big the layout will be is VERY important. That dictates how much space needs to be "filled" and what we need to build. I'd love to help out in any way I can, (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

Wow, what a busy week! Sorry I haven't jumped in on this thread. If there is enough interest (more than 3 or 4 people), I think it would be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I can't make it to a prospective Saturday meeting to iron out some details. A (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Bellville Castle MOC

Ever since I acquired every set in the Belville fairy tale Castle series, I have wanted to build one large Castle using all the pieces possible. It was quite difficult considering I was limited to the Belville colors -- adding regular LEGO® colored (...)   Re: Possible November 12 train show participation

(...) Dean has the forms, and says we can meet at his place to look at them and sort out tables, layout, etc. I propose a meeting on Saturday (any time is good for me). Yeses, Nos, counter-suggestions, please! We have to have the forms in by Sep (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Possible November 12 train show participation

Well, I got to talk to Dick Sutcliffe on the phone, they are interested in having us at the show, and he's sending over the papers for the train shop (by mail to me, orpossibly by fax to Dean and Alex). There's a cutoff date for entries of Sept (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: the library

(...) Perhaps it would be wiser to pick a show/venue that is at least one or two months ahead (Christmas show?) and then really do it up right? That way, everyone could make plans to be there, prepare what would be shown, etc. This current event is (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

(...) That's the current offering. I won't push it until I know there's some help. There's no way I can make some cool things on my own.   Re: the library

(...) Ok, lets see here the consensus is to go with a robotic/ RCX powered Train type theme to this event? The table size is currently at 2'x4'. I'll write up a deal for their board here but first I need to know who can lend support. For (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
