IIRC the 2004 Phaeton will ship with a 6 speed manual in some markets.  The W8
Passat, which uses a derivative of the W12 (two less cylinders per side, or a
dual VR4) already ships in a 6 speed manual.

Both are very quiet cars.

I asked someone at work about this.  Their response "What kind of crappy car are
you driving that doesn't have a tach?"  Hrm.
