  Laser Level

I picked up a laser level on the weekend. It was on at canadian tire for $23 down from $60. I figured for that price it was worth a try to see if it would help with setting up the train layout. It comes with a tripod so we can set it at a particular (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Worth a try--one of the problems we keep having is one end of the layout being two to four inches higher than the other end :) A global reference might help. What are the other key problems with the layout being uneven? -Uneven floor -Uneven (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) There is no way the convention center floor is off the 2-4 inches in the twenty foot dimensions of our layout. 1/8 to a 1/4 inch maybe. So I hope this is a big help for that. (...) Most of our modules are pretty good now. The only problem I've (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) It's additive. One of the other ideas is that we should build from inside out. But I think we do that today anyways. (...) So what's the plan for trains this year? -April, creepy steamer trunk trainshow in Toronto? What's up with this Dave? (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Frank called me on the weekend--he's pretty much keen on us being there but I mentioned that we had to sign off on it first. So as long as the consensus is good, I'll give him a shout this week. Or do we want to talka bout it at dinner? Dave K (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Bought one! You should of built one! (URL) all isn't the point to spend $230 on Lego to do what can be accomplished by something you can buy for $23? -Rob A> (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Modules was (Laser Level)

(...) So this reminded me, that if required I could possibally get Jen's father to build some additional modules if anyone is intrested.... He used good wood for them (I think the price was about $30 for a module) If there is intrest let me know, I (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Well, the consensus was okay, right? If they're not in a rush, I guess it could wait until after Friday night? Calum (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) He called I mentioned that we were getting together for dinner on the second friday of the month to talk about it, so he's fine until after dinner this friday are we actually going to take a trip to Newmarket on saturday? do I need to stay 'in (...)   Re: Laser Level

(...) The one person we keep forgetting in all these discussions is Jeremy. I think we're all confirmed except him for April. He's also a question for NMRA. The problem is he doesn't have the time to read rtlT constantly so he doesn't always catch (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Now THAT is cool. That and he used RoboLAB, which I wouldn't mind figuring out how to use, now that I have this 9751 Dacta Control Lab (Thanks Rob!). Calum (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Modules was (Laser Level)

(...) I think I would like a new one once this generation of events is over (maybe next year). Do we need a skirt for NMRA? Maybe we should put out the laundry list of stuff of things to do. (...) Good stuff, that sounds okay. My manager at work is (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) We need to talk to Jeremy soon then. (...) well, JohnG was really eager about it. I just got busted doing 72 in a 40 zone, so...I don't feel like driving but I will if needed :) (...)   Re: Laser Level

This post is um. not really tied directly to anything Derek said. But I didn't want to start another thread just for it. I haven't helped out at a train show in a long time, and I've always really enjoyed the ones that I did make it to. My biggest (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

I originally got the idea from building a very simple cablecar (that only needs one motor and one light sensor... (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

(...) I am so lost. The rtlToronto layout has crates moving around little LEGO models of smarts?!!? When did this come about?? Iain (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

(...) No, I just think it would be much cooler if the elements of the scenery (like the cablecar or tramway) interacted with the trains, such as loading or unloading things. (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) I don't think the issue is how it looks, it's more a question of "where" right now. I'm not sure there is anywhere to spare right now.   Re: Modules was (Laser Level)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Well, If Jeremy cannot make it to NMRA, then we see if he would be willing to supply us with his modules so that we can set it up down there. I don't see this as a big issue. Jeff VW (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
