  The Grande Robotic Experiment Continues...

The webcam'bot has (mostly) been up for a few weeks straight now. (URL) people have logged in and tried it, and have e-mailed me a few suggestions--most of which I have implemented. The biggest improvement is the grabbing mechanism--now it's pretty (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.vc)

[rtlToronto] September Dinner at Mel's (CHANGED)

Hey folks, A change of plans to accommodate those interested in going to the TSME meeting: We'll be meeting up for dinner at 6 at Mel's instead of Swiss Chalet. Mel's is a lot closer to the TSME meeting, which is at 8 pm. So, see you at Mel's (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Proposal for Altenburg station

I like this station idea, I think it would be really cool. If you want more space to clear the switchs, the east cross over can be moved three track lengths further into my space. I don't mind if we do this, because I have nothing planed for the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Altenburg Line Clearance

(...) This is true, but it means low slung cars can't go through Altenburg, and for example I was thinking of making a street car. This would require a low doorway between the two trucks which would interfere if people encroached that extra stud to (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  TSME picnic

The annual TSME picnic is on this week-end. And you are invited. It's a bit of a hike out in Orono but you will see things that you don't normally see. Like an outdoor model railway with working steam engines. Dave Powell usually brings a steam car (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: I'm getting hungry

The start time is 8:00 PM so that could give you a chance to have two meetings. A possible problem though, is that there might not be any seats left if you get there that late. I am not real keen on the area so my suggestion would be to find good (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: I'm getting hungry

I was having a little chat with DOC and he had (once again) invited us to attend one of their meetings. I think that since this coincides with our dinner.... maybe we might just have a go at it..... its downtown (ish) its on a street car line...... (...)   Re: I'm getting hungry

I hope to be there, but I have a Film Festival movie that night so I can't stay too long. It will all depend on how early I can get away from work. Derek (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: I'm getting hungry

(...) I won't be there. I am going to the TSME (Toronto Society of Model Engineers)meeting next Friday to give a demo of a couple of my robots. I am anxious to see some of their steam engines and such. They are a really talented bunch. Rob (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) All right, you made me do it: (URL) version looks a lot more cyclone-like. I expanded it to give you the 10-long sides you need, anchored at corners (sides is easy, corners hard).
