(...) I don't think this is a requirement, but it is nice to have. Doesn't have to be very large. I think everything on the layout should be reachable within the width of one module. I've captured one of my deisgns that I think is fairly good: (URL) 10 & 2/2 modules * 2 full loops for added engineer time * "Hightown" area raised 18 bricks encompassing 2 modules * Tunnel under Hightown for the lower loop * Either loop could be (...) So I've done a little more thinking. First, it occurs to me that this layout is sort of the minimum sized big-8 layout: (URL) requires 7 modules. (...) (URL) uses one fewer modules, but eliminates the need for the odd one. It also leaves room on either side of the track for switchyards, etc. I'd been fiddling around with the idea of making a layout for the next event, but my plan was to make (...)
