Was going to mention this a while ago actually my apartment building has a
party hall that can be rented out for about $60. Its pretty spacious, at
least as big as the Library spot, if not larger. And the sweet thing is that
its ours till midnight. The location isnt too bad either Lawrence and
Allen Rd (5 min away from 401/400), plus there is free underground parking.
Last time Ive been there it had A/C and a fridge, extra nice for those hot
September afternoons :))
Only problem I see with this spot is the lack of audience. It is in a
residential building and you have to be buzzed in to get in, so you can
imagine how little random visitors well have. Even though it might be a
bonus in a way, I think exposure to public is pretty important for an event
like a train show.

| (...) I don't think this is a requirement, but it is nice to have. Doesn't have to be very large. I think everything on the layout should be reachable within the width of one module. For example a 3x3 square with a module in the middle would be bad (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
