  Multiple IR Towers: Success

Hi folks, Last night I went ahead and built what I thought was a good stab at a multiple-IR tower connector cable. It worked, first go. Doh. So Jeremy and I wasted much of our evening building time smashing our robots into each other. Heh heh heh. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

The rtl10.1 Playfield, aka, the Interactive Media Lab conference table, is a large old table 48x72 inches, a big rectangle. FYI. Calum (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Build the robot, we'll get the code in at the Lab. (...) Mail it to me, I'll host it on Peachy. Which is apparently getting an upgrade! Calum (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Duck factory

(...) I can see this being a bit of a problem. :-) I'm not going to get a soccer robot together by Friday. :-( I just don't have the time, and all my RCXs are setup for Lejos and I've never used NQC and I don't have enough time to even figure out (...)   Duck factory

Iain, how's the duck factory coming? I've been thinking about this one. Sounds like fun to try. If this were an actual contest, I'm guessing you wouldn't be allowed parallel assembly. How about feeding the parts in, are you using a hopper or are you (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Lets move on...

(...) As if you have to ask me... Let's combine our 2 block events... sorting *and* stacking :) YOu sort the white from the black nad have to make towers of each :) Ohhhhh, i like that.... Dave (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Lets move on...

(...) Ouch. Sore spot. But let me clarify: This was not 'several' times, but only one time. This happened at rtl7, thats it. Thats all you get. So, who wants to do blockstacking again? Rob (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: differance between....

(...) The best part of the Controlled events is there's almost no programming! (...) I don't know. But bring it anyways. The reason why I'm doing 10.1 is because we're going to use it instead of the usual academic debate we have online. Let's see (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: too much lube......

(...) yup....that was probably posted by Thomas Avery (founder of TexLUG and the current "lugnet admin blessed" Technic Curator).   How the heck do you build a good caster?

I remember this coming up as one of the harder problems for building a mobile robot. Anyone got any tried and true ideas for I resort to the age old kBot9000 design of putting a friction pad underneath? :) Calum (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
