Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) HI Everybody Why don't we just do it on the floor and have a line 12" after the finish line and you can't cross it or you're DQed. This is less risky and Lego won't go crashing onto the floor. I hate that sound now! It hurt to much the last (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) Yes, let's get a final idea for rtl11, or are we holding out until after robosoccer? I am really liking the idea of having a "simple" competition, combined with whatever other competition there may be. The one I'm being drawn to is the (...)   Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) Yes, but the overall plot arc is that you're all still trying to figure out why your ProjectXen didn't beat Rob or didn't function properly. And as we all know, rtlToronto's primary lesson is: Reality is Hard. Mario brings in our robot on (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: I am an idiot

(...) Well, we're backed up over NFS to a DLT autoloader, so it's somewhere in the department archives, but I feel kinda stupid asking them to restore Lego photos versus say, computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis or any of the other (...)   Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) OK, 2 points. 1. I came in SECOND!!!! i have the ribbon to prove it. ;) 2. We (Matthias and I) are working on ways to improve future robots. as a sub plot, this give him the opportunity to as for schematics for the RCX even more. And lastly, (...)   Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) If you've ever wondered what newsgroup you're in on Lugnet, and you read "I dragged out my variac", you know you're in rtlToronto, because: a) People here have variacs b) People here know what variacs are c) People are not afraid to say they (...)   Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) I am sorry. I was doing it from memory, and i thought I did so well by remembering the combination of "hias" that I forgot the easy part of Matt. As you (and all of Lugnet) are aware, I am a very poor speller. I don't know why, I always have (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: lube....

(...) No. Unmodified. Next thing you'll ask is to use glue. Calum Pretend, Chris, there IS NO PLAN B. (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors

(...) It's two "t"'s Mr. Mango :-) (...) My point here is this: I was using the Lego train transformer, which is just that: a transformer (10:1 ie. 120VAC in yields 12VAC out - no regulation, no filtering) If the voltage at the wall drops 8.3% (...)   Re: lube....

(...) Hey, Iain: What's new? how is life? I have now re-sorted most of the x-bot back into my storage system. So, I was wondering. Do you have a wealth of information that you could share with me regarding lubricants? :) Chris (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  lube....

So here I sit, My X-bot is in smaller and smaller parts. As I get down into the gear trains, and sliders, I notice a LOT of lego dust. This should not come as a surprise. many of you made comment about the dust on the worm to 24T gear gripper. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtl11 Ideas, Part 4

I was "reviewing" my e-mail account, particularly my "lego friends" folder. I was amazed at how many rtl e-mails I have.
