  Re: Is it wrong?

(...) Jason's building was a go kart factory, complete with assembly line and loading dock and test track, rather than a train station. It was on a train layout though! (and it's where we put the MichLTC logo) IIRC, Lawrence Wilkes of the UK did a (...) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Is it wrong?

Sometimes the virtual glass concept works. Where you make all the frames like there is glass in them, but never put it in. So people are given the impression of it being a window even though there is no real lego glass piece that could fill in the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Stuff

First, Calum, can you bring T-shirts for us out-of-towners to the Montreal train show? I asked for medium, I'm not sure about anyone else. I vaguely recall Ka-On asked for medium also. I'll buy his too and get it to him if you have two medium's. If (...) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.org.ca.monlug)

  OT: Battlebots

Did you know Nortel is sponsoring Battlebots? I can't believe it. I'm getting moved to Belleville while the company is sponsoring Battlebots? Must be one of those subsidiaries we bought back in the day :) Calum (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Naming: Request

(...) Actually, this would be a good idea. I sort of miss it too. You don't have to spend a long time thinking of a catchy name that is legally trademarkable, then devise an extensive brand marketing scheme around it (Team Knob: The Goal is (...)   Naming: Request

I've noticed that at the more recent rtl events have had a lack of names for robots. IE, it's always just "X's Robot", where X = robot builder. Can everyone name their robots this time, like we used to like at, say, rtl4? Who could forget Rogue (...) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dystopic Progression?

(...) Oh, for real! I see… looks like I’ve read wayyyyyyyy to far into that comment. Thanx for the clarification Lar. -R (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.general)

  Re: Is it wrong?

(...) I think it all boils down to what you are trying to achieve with the model. If you feel like "cheating" and use non-lego items on it, that is fine...you are the maker.... just don't tell the kiddies looking at it, "that with enough bricks, (...)   Is it wrong?

Hi folks, I have a dumb question: Is it wrong, and by wrong, I mean, would it be unusual or looked down on, to have the roof of a building in a Town layout to be made of plexiglass or glass? Iain and I were looking at the bus station at Square One (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Wow. This is track.

Chris, you need smore track to taunt like this*: (URL) 80 plus boxes of track in there. That's almost like...$1600 Canadian. Plus those 4555 Freight Loading Stations. Calum *-Chris owns a box of track solely to taunt me should I ever need more (...) (23 years ago, 3-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dystopic Progression?

(...) I think he was referring to Calum's personal town layout, which has been seen by many folks, rather than the machinations of the group per se. Not that there are any. (23 years ago, 3-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.general)

  Dystopic Progression?

(rtlToronto) I sure wasn’t aware that you’re involved with the inner-workings and flawed infrastructure that exists within my particular (...) (...) Just to inject a note of seriousness..... I've said it time and again, This is OUR group. it is as much Robs right to suggest a name as it is Iains, Daves, Dereks, or whom ever.   Re: another step closer to being a serious robotics competitor

(...) Well said Calum! I wholeheartedly agree! I think this is the smartest thing anyone has ever said pertaining to robotics design. I learned this the hard way over the past year.   Re: another step closer to being a serious robotics competitor

(...) It's not the collection, it's the effort! Most of the best entrants into the rtlToronto events often are people with very small amounts of Lego. It's the R&D process of designing, prototyping, building, testing and repeating it all over that (...) (23 years ago, 2-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train 3?

(...) No, you don't get it-I don't care when the event is, that's up to other people. The problem is when the library is free. That was why train1 was at Richview (because Eatonville wasn't ready yet) and why train2 ran the weekend it did (because (...) (23 years ago, 2-Nov-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
