Re: This will make Chris happy....

(...) The attitude has always been, the 8" is a rule, but we'd rather have you at the event with a robot than have you not at the event, with a working bot sitting on a shelf. No one has ever bothered to measure robots, even though I bring a ruler. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: This will make Chris happy....

(...) Awesome! I have one too, and also it may even work. :) It's called Donut, after my favourite character on Red vs. Blue. Re: 9" - you're allowed, so long as you make me another drawing! :) Just kidding. I still have those MD script sheets to (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: This will make Chris happy....

I have a 'bot! It might even work. I still have to program it, though, but I think the construction end is done. (...) Yep, mine too, maybe. I haven't checked if it fits in the 8" box, but it might on an angle. However, it definately will fit in a (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: This will make Chris happy....

(...) Woohooo! (...) I'm trying to have one done for the competition, but I can't say I've got very far with it. I do however, have a show and tell for Friday's dinner, on a large model I'm planning to build. I think for the first time, I'm going to (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  This will make Chris happy....

Well on Monday night I had a chance to finish building my bot :) It is a tad bigger the the 8" allotment, but you try using those skinny motorcycle wheels (the ones that come in the mindstorms kit) to sit side by side and still have enough space for (...)   Re: Laser Level

(...) Well, If Jeremy cannot make it to NMRA, then we see if he would be willing to supply us with his modules so that we can set it up down there. I don't see this as a big issue. Jeff VW (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Modules was (Laser Level)

(...) There was some talk of that, ILTCO is waiting for word from the show/fire marshal to tell them what type of skirting, then either ILTCO will pass that info to us, or will purchase skirting for the groups. (...) I would think we would head back (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) I don't think the issue is how it looks, it's more a question of "where" right now. I'm not sure there is anywhere to spare right now. I know DaveK and Janey were talking about a whole new section, but I'm not sure where they are on this (...) (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

(...) No, I just think it would be much cooler if the elements of the scenery (like the cablecar or tramway) interacted with the trains, such as loading or unloading things. (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Swan Firmware

Perhaps dinner discussion for Friday, but has anyone here played with the new Dick Swan firmware? I just installed it on a couple of bricks to play around with, and I'm having a helluva time geting much luck out of running existing programs on it. (...)   Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

(...) I am so lost. The rtlToronto layout has crates moving around little LEGO models of smarts?!!? When did this come about?? Iain (20 years ago, 9-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Laser Leveled tramways... well, not really

(...) OK, here's another idea (as the GBC invades yet again). How about putting the SMART crate-carrying gantry crane "on the ropes"? I originally got the idea from building a very simple cablecar (that only needs one motor and one light sensor... (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

This post is um. not really tied directly to anything Derek said. But I didn't want to start another thread just for it. I haven't helped out at a train show in a long time, and I've always really enjoyed the ones that I did make it to. My biggest (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) I would not want to change the way we handle this form for the world. (Well maybe, having the world would be pretty cool) However you want to define what we discuss here is up to you. The point is we come close to generating more messages then (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Laser Level

(...) Local shows are easier to do, but NMRA is a big question mark...hrm. (...) Well, fluff might be moving on, you never know :) Some fluff is kinda useless, others, which are usually the more Toronto-oriented or "weird stuff we all appreciate" (...)   Useless link of the day

This one is brilliant. It features two of our favourites, Limoseen style rocker graphics AND an Amiga 500: (URL) an entire article about stuff to do with old computers (other than program your RCX with) but it's in German. (URL) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
