  Re: Fed UP with rtl

(...) oh, just saving my breath. It seems the rtl events have really taken a turn for the worse. Six months ago, you guys were laughing at people who entered events like line-following or sumo. "What's an rtl event with zero participants; Line (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) Well I'll bring the buggy again as well as a new one. (...) Well it's been discussed loosely at dinners and in direct conversations. I don't know if the discussion ever made it to the news group. Basically we decided we didn't want to do more (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) Bigger than 12X space buggy? :) (...) Is that the general consensus of rtlToronto? I apologize if it's been discussed on LUGNET. I might have missed it, but I hadn't heard that until now. Thanks! Allan B. (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.events, lugnet.loc.ca.on, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) I've got two large sculptures that I was hoping to display at the hobby show, and I think we at rtlToronto want to use the hobby show as our second train display of the year. I think the timing is perfect for that. Derek (20 years ago, 18-Jul-04, to lugnet.events, lugnet.loc.ca.on, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) I was contacted by the show organizers who are asking whether or not we will be attending the show this year to put on the LEGO booth again. At this point, based on the feedback to this thread from two months ago, and from a message sent to (...)   Re: Barrel Racing?

(...) Sounds like a logical next step to dragracing! Maybe run the two events in parallel?* Iain *-I was only present for ~10 minutes during the one other time we tried doing that (Connect4/Marble). I have no idea what the logistics of that were or (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Using the RCX for animating LEGO Train displays?

  Barrel Racing?

My better half and I were watching the Calgary Stampede on TV the other night, and I say to myself...."Self, now barrel racing, that would be a cool idea for a robot contest!" Any thoughts? For those of you who don't know what it is, let me explain (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP????

(...) Yeah...going to Rocklands each night and watching some nice looking women be all interested in guys wearing Lego badges, because it's not the typical one-liners from most men out there... hm... "hey baby, I got a stud for you!" (hands girl a (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP????

(...) One reason I can think of is meeting people. You never know.... it may be your last chance to meet them. Travis comes to mind. What a wonderfully entheusiastic guy.... that I'll never get to talk to again. I had a great time at Brickfest last (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP????

(...) Have ya seen the peeps I call friends in rtlToronto??? Brickfest, if it's entirely about ranting and raving about the colour change, will be a walk in the park compared to 1 afternoon at an rtl event... ;) Did I ever mention the dinner after (...)   Re: Fed UP????

(...) Great reasons John. I cannot go to Brickfest either this year due to monetary reasons and I have my military training that weekend. :( Benjamin Medinets (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP????

(...) You say that like it's a bad thing. :) (...) I am wondering if we won't gently remind people "we know and lets move on" the first few times. We'll see. I was concerned about this at PDX (when the wounds were much rawer) and it all seemed to (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP????

(...) Nope, I'm kinda with Derek-- "Hey cool MOC!" "Yeah, it'd be beter without the Bley..." k, let that one slide... "Announcing this new spectacular set!"   Re: Fed UP????

(...) Well, it could be the people (all 200 or so of them so far) it could be the competitions, like the ISD Speed Build or WAMALUG Mystery Build, it could be the models that will be coming from all over, including Canada! it could be the place, (...)   Re: Fifteen years of instructions: Some comments

(...) Why didn't you say so in the first place, via mail, instead of being snide and coy? (...) No it didn't, not the part *I* wrote. I have about 2000 people in my address book, as it happens, and I sent it to about 30 of them this time (10 of whom (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Fifteen years of instructions: Some comments... August Dinner

Re: Fifteen years of instructions: Some comments

(...) Up until this point I was rather enjoying the conversation. Mayhaps, to best serve the interests of all, further discussion of Native American names and the like, should be maybe taken to o.t.fun or other such venue. Anyway, beyond that, when (...)   Re: Fed UP????

(...) Well, these are the reasons I *want* to go, although I cannot make it there this year... To see some really great people (I'm not saying everyone is great, just most of them) To see MOCs that make my jaw drop To spend too much money at (...)
