Re: must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

(...) Well, Derek, JeffVW and I just ordered one each too. So don't feel bad, you'll have company in a fleet of other Toronto home ported ships. :) I have to say I'm quite rather eager about getting this set! Calum (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Volunteer needed for container swap BFDC2004

(...) Jeff, are you gonna just stand there and be nominated like that?! Avoid work like the plague! Because if you don't, I'm gonna nominate you to organize rtlToronto16, 17 and train7. :) Calum (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

(...) Now I ordered the 10152 Maersk ship. So all that money I saved on Friday night at WalMart by not buying any LEGO... For Not!!!! Eh, is only money. It'd only go to trivial things like mortgage payments and car insurance... Dave K (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) The Metroliner is a great set, and probably the best one that's out there right now, but you are right it doesn't come with a regulator. It does however come with a motor. This makes it a good second set. I would recommend getting something (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) The Metroloiner is a decent set and it would be wise to pick one up before it disappears again. The set does require a regulator which is not included. They can be gotten cheap on ebay or bricklink. Lego sells them for $40 but they can be had (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Metroliner (10001)

Is the Metroliner set a good one as a first train set? It says it has no regulator...what does it come with then? How does it run? Alternatively, is there a better suggestion for a first train set ($ are a factor here...) Thanks, -Rob A> (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

The Hobby Show in Toronto is just about 6 months away. This post is intended to gauge the level of interest that people have in putting on a booth at this year's show. As a reminder, the Can-Brick Builders attended last year's show (Nov 2003) and (...)   Re: must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

(...) Well I beat all you guys to it! I had one built for a few days, then I took it down to get the parts for my ambitious project to build a 8448 from my stockpile. Simply could not afford one. <sob> I had another sitting in my basement waiting (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Anyone in the Hamilton/Niagara corridor planning to go to this Friday's Dinner?

(...) Was quite strange. Sent a reply, then about an hour ago I got a 'can not deliver message' response Anyway, I'll be hanging at Laidlaw until you get here. Dave K (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Well you beat me to it, but I've ordered one too. I was thinking there might be a benefit to ordering other things with it, assuming free shipping, but it turns out the Ferrari just doesn't count toward shipping. Basically there is no benefit (...)   Re: Jake's Colour Background

  must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

SO I just ordered the Ferarri (set #8386). I think it'll be a good one for the RC modification. Then I can have the 8448 and the 8386 scooting around the neighbourhood. Eh, is only money and I'd spend it on more frivilous stuff if I didn't spend it (...) (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: OT - maths

(...) well, I don't think a 33 1/3 rpm record is gently turning. In elaborate tests, I was able to move my arm from vertical to horizontal (about 90 degrees) in the same time I was able to count to three. Actually I made my 3 yr old son count to (...) What's the RPM of something that is "gently turning" Chris There's no 'I' in 'team'. There's four in 'platitude-quoting idiot'. (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
