You mean The Charity to Pay Dell Back? Because I think they ended up billing my
credit card for the second one too :)
Calum
PS-Alright, far off topic here.
The machine is pretty nice. The "workstation desktop" chassis has some nice
features, like diagnostic indicators on the front. The outside is plastic, the
inside frame is metal. Like all Dells, it has an easy open, tool-less case.
The Quadro board is okay. I don't like the DVI pigtail it uses. I'm sure the
HT CPU is quite powerful, once I put it to its paces under some video editing
software. But so far, I can't really feel the power of the machine underneath
me yet.
The panel display is INCREDIBLE. I hate to say it, but I was looking forward to
editing academic text on this panel's portrait mode. I just got Cleartype
installed too. I just have to figure out how to get NVRotate to work on the
Quadro board.
The hard disk they selected was a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ATA, which I
supplemented with a Western Digital WD2000 series 160GB drive. Now all I have
to do is slot in my Adaptec FireWire board and the rtlToronto 2003-2004 Demo
Reel will becoming early this year! :)
