  Re: latest layout photo

(...) Have a look and tell me what you think... (URL) mountain (upper left) has the main line running under in via a tunnel, and the elevated section goes over and through it. A curved section would be carved out to make room, just like the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Plans for next NALUG layout

(...) 14 high shouldn't be a problem - that's the clearance I was after. (...) This is LEGO - anything will work. 8-) (Just have to figure it out.) (...) Sounds great.   Re: latest layout photo

Thanks James, see (URL) for the description that goes with the layout. You are right about the industries and town areas. Se other posts about the train yard, will have to be redrawn in a different location. I tried to fit as many sidings as (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Plans for next NALUG layout

I wanted the whole layout to be 8 wide friendly, Kevin reports that Big Red takes 14 bricks of clearance from the ties on the track, hence more than one pillar is needed, and the inclines are only in full pillar increments. I tried to make it go (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: latest layout photo

You are right, the switching yard stinks. But we can't fit 6 tracks AND have room for structures or a storage yard, in 30.5 inch width. Maybe moving the switching yard to the right side and the mountain and elevator to the bottom would be best. More (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: LEGO window scraper

(...) 10 degrees in October?!!! Holy crud!! It never gets that cold here in Georgia in Feburary. I'd hate to see how cold it gets later in the year for you guys. I like the blue bucket lid idea.   LEGO window scraper

Well it's a record low -10 degrees (that's 10 to those of you who still use Fahrenheit's body temperature as a reference) this morning, and there was a heavy layer of frost on my windshield. I haven’t unpacked my scraper yet, so I needed something (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: latest layout photo

Regarding it... I like the variety of track. Looks like lots of room for town in the top right, and industry in the top left? About the only thing I don't like is no train yard... Maybe kick the mountain higher on the layout, and run a short ladder (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Plans for next NALUG layout

In lugnet.org.ca.vlc, James Brown writes: <snip> (...) Actually, that wasn't luck.   Gray Mailboxes

I just noticed that there are some useful gray mailboxes still on the grain elevator guts. From whom did I borrow them? Do you guys want them back or would they be available for a trade? :) -- John (remove the obvious to reply) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)
