I just want to agree with most everything Eric wrote about LUGs and LTCs,
except the one part about it being more difficult for Space or Castle
"sub-LUGs" to form.  True, there aren't as many (none that I know of), but I
would think that existing forums like Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Gaming
conventions would welcome them about as readily as Train conventions have
welcomed LTCs.

Just to add to this, the Moonbase Project and the walled town at the recent
Brickfest are examples of Space and Castle group projects.  Also Brickwars
games tend to fall into one of these (or WWII-era) genres.  So there is some
evidence of people coming together around themes other than trains.  This
seed could develop into full-fledged sub-LUGs.  Not that I would call for
such a thing, as I enjoy meeting with builders across themes at a LUG meeting.
