Hm. An interesting Wikipedia entry there... I’m kinda disappointed that it’s limited to a modern interpretation. Their “U.S. Examples” omit things I’d consider to be even more closely aligned with their initial definition. Namely: WPA posters of the 1930’s and 1940’s. (WPA = Works Progress Administration) Many are beautifully designed, graphically stark, and pack a punch for sending out their message.

It’s Wikipedia - feel free to add to the article ;)

Heh. True.

I’m usually too chicken to edit or add anything there. Something tells me that the rest of the world is probably smarter than I am. So I’m imagining that, somehow, big printed posters telling the population to get tested for syphilis don’t fit the modern definition of “Public Service Announcement.” (I noticed though that there *is* a WPA poster displayed on the Wikipedia’s entry for “syphilis”!)

The only entry I’m responsible for adding to the Wikipedia is this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kendall_Band
