The major scientific community? Are you basing this on Behe's
statements or maybe the intro to the article? Most of the major
scientific community that I know have dismissed Behe-- I know I have.
He has flaws in many if his arguments. One of his major failings is
that he believes or desires in some form of the Adaptionist Program,
where every new structure or biochemical pathway has to be explained as
to what fitness advantage it gives the organism. Evolutionary
biologists have discovered such thigns as co-apapted gene complexes that
explain why not every gene is adaptive.

Disregarding the fact that evolution is, in fact, a theory, are these
new recent events in PA? (I'm a PA ex=patriot) Can you give me anymore
info?

ps. i ahve a depressing story about a young creationist girl from
Lehigh U (where Behe is from) who came down to the USGS to work in the
Climate History Division.
