Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Chris Maddison
(...) OK. Human. But, we do agree that humans are, in fact, animals, yes? We try to separate ourselves from the animals, but we are. So, I offer this comparison: A German Shepard is a dog. A Dalmatian is a dog. A German Shepard is not a Dalmatian, (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Mike Petrucelli
(...) that (...) The color of the dog's fur has no more impact upon its breed than a man's skin has upon his speices. Different dog breeds have significant physical differences not merely cosmetic ones. As far as I know there are no significant (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) So, (...) No physical differences? Ahh, so that's why we're all 6'2" and 200 lbs. Thanks for clearing that up. -Chris (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Dave Schuler

(...) What you got to say now, Mike? -Chris (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Mike Petrucelli
(...) The same breed dog can have different sizes. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic defect not a SIGNIFICANT physical differnce. -Lord Insanity (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Dave Schuler
(...) How about a chocolate lab vs. a black lab? Each is prized for certain "cosmetic" differences, yet each is a labrador, and each is a dog. (...) You ventured in another post that you're either more "mentally well" or "so naive it isn't funny." (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) skin (...) else (...) to (...) who (...) Glad to see that SOMEONE is on my side, Dave! -Chris (the one who started this entire posting thread, as well as who made the offhanded remark of race) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Mike Petrucelli
(...) First I am not blaming you Chris for using "race" in the manner which you did. Also I would never attempt to trivialize Dr. Martin Luthor King Jr.'s death. I simply can not understand why anyone cares what color skin I or anyone else has. I do (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) Pure bread or pure breed? In the latter case, because you have a fair idea of the size, purpose, and temperment of the dog. How much excercise and attention they need, how much space they require, are they good watchdogs, companion dogs, (...) (25 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Dave Schuler
(...) Whether you blame him or not, you jumped all over him, both when he made the statement in the first place as well as when he tried to correct himself.           Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Chris Maddison
(...) did. (...) Seeing as how I started this in the first place, I should end it. I feel that the conversation took a bad turn quite a while ago. I was a tad bit upset with Mike, and ir he was with me, that's OK. So, I think it's time to just drop (...) (25 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Chris Maddison
(...) I know you don't blame me, Mike. I apologize for going off the handle like I did. I imagine you MUST have noticed, but I'm a rather stubborn person, and will fight to the death and drive an issue into the ground. And I've been brought up to (...)          Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Mike Petrucelli
(...) did. (...) I too must offer a belated apology. (Busy, school, finales, etc.) I tend to be stubborn myself. I still am trying to figure out why people think I was trying to deny the hardships of various 'racial' groups. That was definatly not (...) (25 years ago, 3-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why can't we have a Lando: Lego's Race policy —Dave Lovelace
(...) What's the inherent skin tone of dogs? Yellow? I do know for a fact that we've got lots of different hair colors, so Lego would never argue that all animals have the same fur color, including human animals. Oh, yes, and brown-furred wookies.
