Re: Lets keep politics out of Lego

(...) There's a difference? :-) Wait, what did Rhode Island do? Note that France seems to be rather disliked by a lot of countries, note the admonition in that UK Revokation that we were to nuke France at the slightest provocation... Why is that? (...)   Re: Lets keep politics out of Lego

(...) Ok...Texas Republican into the fray...LBJ was a bad apple, but no need to insult the whole state. Anyway...doesn't matter. If Bush loses, we're gonna exercise our right to cede from the Union, and the first order of business will be to declare (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: CODE WORD TIME

(...) Wow, Dave, you're certainly attacking everything today aren't you!? Here too, you're missing the point, 1st off - this whole circus has an element of humor to it which I'm taking advantage of. No then, my assertion is merely that anyone who (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Boy sues (and wins) for NOT being aborted

(...) No, not true. I, at least, preface my opinions with 'I', to not my opinions You, have felt it neccessarily to use insult, though. ("naive") Unfortunately, this is a time-tested liberal tactic, and I can expose it. Liberal tactic #1 - Resort to (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: CODE WORD TIME

(...) See, the thing is that many Republicans express themselves eloquently and without making themselves sound like self-righteous children. Those are the Republicans who demonstrate themselves and their ideas to be worth of respect and (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: CODE WORD TIME

I'm with you, Rob. If somehow Gore forces his way in, he'll certainly have been the first President elected by the will of the people too stupid to read. The President of the Stupid. What a way to start your legacy. -Jon (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Boy sues (and wins) for NOT being aborted

(...) That is a horrifically presumptuous and naive statement. If your claim were true, there would be no history of euthanasia, nor suicide, nor assisted suicide. (...) Again, quite naive. The issue is not simply the 'value' of human life but (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Rumor control?

(...) Yes I thought they were doozies when he wrote them in his book "Earth in the Balance" (or some title like that). But they are true. That's the way it is with belief systems (like the Democrats), people tend to be willing sheep, signing up for (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Boy sues (and wins) for NOT being aborted

(...) Duh! ** BLATENTLY NOT TRUE ** Read the article. The boy didn't bring the suit, his parents did on behalf of the boy (and maybe not even that) What we know from the article is that his parents sued because they could have aborted if they had (...)   Re: From Harry Browne

(...) This stance kind of troubles me. It suggests that not only do you view the death penalty as an appropriate penalty for rape, but you don't even expect that the alleged perpetrator should get a trial. (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Boy sues (and wins) for NOT being aborted

(...) The real tragedy here is that the boy has no hope; his life seems to have been such that he considers death to be the real gift. Who has really failed him? I wouldn't blame the doctors. I wonder if he has been raised to believe that he is a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Rumor control?

(...) Rather a harsh way to put it, but yes, I believe that if you take what Al has said at one time or another at face value, he does see global warming as such a huge problem that any measures may not be too drastic, including disassembling all of (...)   Re: Lets keep politics out of Lego

(...) As a democrat, let me note that's mighty nice of you to say! ;-) I think Honest Texan-Politician would be a better example of an oxymoron (move over Landslide Lyndon, here come the Bush Brothers Tag Team). Bruce (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Boy sues (and wins) for NOT being aborted

  Re: From Harry Browne

(...) We both agree that is murder. (...) I would convict him as long as I could be sure the sentence he is given is no more than about 2 weeks. (...) Ironically, I think in actual fact I would find it much more than mildly distasteful. (...) That's (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: CODE WORD TIME

Yesterday, NPR talked with a statistician who discussed this point. The current difference is statistically negligible; it is virtually a tie, you cannot state with confidence that either person won. The difference in a total of 6 million vote tally (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Lets keep politics out of Lego

(...) Nothing specific, though I'm sorry to hear GW wasn't able to pull off the execution hat-trick this week. Dave! (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Rumor control?

This could probably be posted in OT.FUN, but I figured this was a safer place to start. Last night, while availing myself of the fine Pittsburgh mass transit system, I had the pleasure of sitting a few seats away from a quite vocal and colorfully (...) (...) No, I think ox(y)moron is the precise word:-) (...) ooh, my facetious meter just went off-- anything you care to share, Dave!? -John (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: From Harry Browne

(...) Yes, exactly. And your response was that you'd try to keep it a personal decision. Now obviously, that's not what you meant, or how you meant it. Fine. For the sake of the next two points below, I'm assuming that we're defining murder as a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
