Re: Ecce Homo -- Mel Gibson's Passion (more fluff, sorta...)

(...) Of course! Bueller would have to be included! BTW, you only have 1??? (...) If you liked that one, by all means see Waiting for Guffman, and the recently released A Mighty Wind. Same cast (it's almost weird that way), same hilarity. It is a (...) (21 years ago, 24-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Ecce Homo -- Mel Gibson's Passion (more fluff, sorta...)

(...) Oh My Goodness! I have the Grail on DVD. Seriously, it's so choice. If you have the means, I seriously recommend it. Spinal Tap--not my forte, but 'Best in Show'--lovely. Maybe it was all the Canadians in it :) Dave K (21 years ago, 24-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

(...) No brainer-- This is Spinal Tap If your question is addressed to Americans, then I'd add The Holy Grail; if you meant American films, then I guess it wouldn't qualify;-) JOHN (21 years ago, 24-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Ecce Homo -- Mel Gibson's Passion (more fluff, sorta...)

(...) Could you restate that please? Are you asking for a list of films that might possibly rise to the level of being called "art"? Does the list have to be composed of strictly american films for some reason? ??? FWIW, I don't actually subscribe (...) (21 years ago, 24-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Ecce Homo -- Mel Gibson's Passion (more fluff, sorta...)

Looks like Mel caved after all... The last bit I saw on this yesterday on CNN claimed the film would release on Ash Wednesday next year with subtitles. ::sigh:: Maybe the DVD will release the originally intended, non-subtitled version.   Re: Ecce Homo -- Mel Gibson's Passion (more fluff, sorta...)

(...) I have to agree, I downloaded the preview overnight and I am definately intrigued. The last movie I saw that I would classify as art rather than eye candy would have to be "The Red Violin." That was a good movie. -Mike Petrucelli (21 years ago, 23-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

  Re: Just 'cause...
