One other thing, related: Many people browse the web listings -- or check
in periodically -- from work or from a public place where they aren't able
to get to their email, so in many cases, they need to be able to see their
name, to know whether they're still the high bidder or not, or whether
something finally went sold to them, etc. That helps them decide whether
or not to rush home, or submit new bids, etc.
