  Re: AFOLs as cheapskates

(...) Lets see, hmm, last friday night. But it WAS at the LIC on a discontinued Paradisa set :^) I have bought some of the new SW sets already as well as some LOM sets, I also got a bunch of 'my' theme castle sets at regular price, missed them (...) (...) It's funny, one local Target (Fairfield, California) had the 5978's at $15.74 also. Yours was the only other one I heard of that did that (I remember when you posted about it). I also bought several. I have found some real finds (e.g., (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Not at all. When the new sets for the year come out, I tend to buy them at full price. In recent memory, I have bought the following at full price: *All the Star Wars System sets to date *All the LoM sets (except the big base) *All the (...) (...) Nope. :) If I see something that I like, I'll typically buy one off the shelf, at whatever the price happens to be. About half the time that's 15% off, but that's because I do more shopping when Zeller's does their monthly sale, not because I (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) That about sums up my shopping strategy too. For example, I've wound up with the smaller Life on Mars alien stuff on more or less impulse, but I'm waiting for a sale before I go for the big tan four-legged one. I'm also waiting for a sale to (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) OK Dave, you get a "Brave Shopper" card to carry now. You know, those were sets I bought at regular price too.. (maybe some new Treasury at a Kohl's 20% sale, which is really like 15% off MSRP.) Also Desert Skiff, Droid Fighter, Pontoon Plane, (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) In any company there are always some persons whose caring and concern goes beyond the paycheck. If a large enough percentage care, then you may have a great company. (...) This week via proxy, Shell set 1254 x 4. (...) Of course! I might be willing to buy some smaller or reasonably priced (a dime a brick or less) sets at full price, but if I want more than one of the set I will try to wait for at least a BOGO (...)   Great Deals on Hard-to-Find DUPLO and DACTA Items

Hey Everyone, I've just started getting back into Duplo and Dacta because of my kids. Normally, I'm a System and Technic purist (is there such a thing?), but the simplicity of the DUPLO components makes it ideal for my 4 year old. Also, my older (...)   OT: Amazing tape for your parts cabinets

The best deal for extra-large gray baseplates is currently the mosiac kit available from s@h. What is the status of version 2.0? It has gotten impossible to find older sets. Fry's has a couple that have been opened and are missing software (and possibly parts), but they will only drop the price to $179. What a rip-off! (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.robotics)
