Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —John Morgan
(...) heehee yea Shiri .. ya gotta be careful, those "deep pockets " out there will clean out the lots and then jack up the prices via EBAY....it's tuff on the "thin wallets' that barely know what Wolf Pack is, much less afford the EBAY excessive (...)         Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Jeff Johnston
(...) I think that most of the 'deep pockets' here on LUGNET would be buying them for their personal use, not for their auction resale value. Larry P - one of those deep pocketed AFOLs - is adamantly anti-scalping, and he's butted heads with the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Shiri Dori
(...) I won't judge anyone one way or another - but anyhow, it is pretty depressing to know that someone bought about 50 copies of one set while you just wanted 1 or 2... (...) I agree, but there are many deep-pocketed people (who aren't (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Jeff Johnston
(...) I (fortunately) haven't met anyone like that here. I personally think that sort of behavior is despicable. Buying a set and selling it for a profit is one thing, but creating an artificial shortage so your prices go through the roof is (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Bill Farkas
(...) army (...) Hey John, Que pasa? Check out Jon Kozan at Baylit, I think there's a link here on Lugnet somewhere. He sells parts individually, he has all different kinds of heads for about 50 cents each. I just picked up 10 or so the other day. (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Mike Stanley
(...) Well, I only bought 20 when I called the other morning, partly because I took a closer look at the set and didn't see enough in it to make me want more and partly because I know the market will be flooded with them so I won't be able to sell (...)          Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Ben Gatrelle
(...) Wasn't there a message from the manager of the VA outlet a month or two after it opened that said she wasn't able to ship thngs? I seem to remember she had gotten into some internal hot water because she was shipping stuff. I seem to remember (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —James Brown
(...) Yes and no. They will ship discontinued product. They will not ship things on the shelf in retail stores, and they will not ship things that S@H has any stock of. James (URL) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Apparently the non-shipment protocol has been retracted only on items not available from S@H. Georgia was willing to do it, and they stated that VA should as well. best Lindsay (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —John Neal
(...) The bummer part about Georgia is that they are only set up to charge sales tax, so you pay an extra 7% for no reason:-( Seems a little lame to me.... -John (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Ergh. Okay, I'm going to 'fess up, not that I should need to defend myself, but there's conscience-clearing in the air, so what the heck: 1) I ordered a dozen WP sets. I generally loathe Castle. 2) I ordered a dozen Town Folks sets. I (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Jeff Johnston
(...) It's not. There's a difference between reselling for profit and scalping. It seems pretty clear that you're just going to re-sell at a profit. If you were deliberately trying to create a shortage of WP sets to drive the price up, up, up and (...) (25 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Gotta clear my conscience... —Ray Sanders
(...) OK, I'll bite. How does someone "deliberately try to create a shortage" in Lego ? Occasionally I come across something that is HTF (examples being exploriens and armada).
