Well, look at this, at the moment on eBay there is a person selling the • new 10
000 set as "very rare". Not only that, but the title of the auction is • "Lego
Legos GUARDED INN COMPLETE SEALED *NEW* " - the only thing sealed about it • is
the plastic bags, the box isn't included. But, rest assured, this person • leaves
us with the final comment of "...Feel confident in your bid due to my • perfect
feedback" ...hmmm, and bidding is now at US $41... to be continued

The auction you are referring to is actually a relist of one that ended with
buy it now several days ago.  There was some question to the validity of the
"sealed" bags in this post:  http://news.lugnet.com/market/auction/?n=8482
It seems statistics will show that 2 of the bags were opened, pieces
replaced, then resealed.  I asked the seller about this and the reply I got
was that they received it packed the way it was pictured.

There is also another misleading auction up right now regarding the
guarded inn.  I won't post the auction, but pictured is a completely
assembled GI with the instruction booklet BACK cover shown.  There is no
mention of the fact that it is actually #10000, but if you ask the seller
what the set number is, he will tell you.  This seller just sold one through
ebay for $39 and pictured the box cover clearly showing it was the reissue.

(...) Yeah, that guy is a piece of work! His response to me was classic! But I am told posting the words of others' without their consent is a no no. Just contact the bidders instead. -- Hop-Frog (23 years ago, 24-Jul-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
