Tood???

((whisper)...hey, I thought only Larry got to call me that :)

Oh God! I hope he doesn't take offence and target my AucZilla bids.

With Larry announcing his AucZilla "wants" I keep getting this funny image
of five dusty Outlaws playing poker in some dilapidated old west saloon...

There was the low din of conversation and carousing in the Last Drink that
night.  With an uneasy eye, Larry P., surveyed the four men at his table and
the saloon's entrance.  Auction Todd was playing tonight, and the stakes
were going to be high.  Larry dealt out the hand.  A old card player, Larry
was watched closely by the others. No one _wanted_ to see anything or the
confrontation it would bring, but all watched him closely.  The cards hit
the table and each man drew his lot.

And then Auction Todd threw in enough tiles to make a minifig ice-rink...
European size.

"That's a fair chunk of tiles you are willing to loose there Tood" Larry
casually mentioned.

Larry called Him Tood 'cause back before brick separators, Larry had won a
drunken bet by dissembling two 8880's one after another; damage to his hand
had left with a typing impediment.  On that night, as he passed out and
clutched his mangled paw, they say you could hear him mumbling over and over
"4.5v complete... 4.5v complete...".

After his simple words to Auction Todd, the Last Drink's din was replaced
with a chorus of low hissing whispers.  No man looked at the card table in
the corner, but all were watching.  The air got thick, and with the slowest
of motions Larry P. moved his toothpick that dangled from his jaw to the
right side.  After seeing this, the others at the table were given to a
strange sense of relief... the relief that comes when an unsure situation
becomes sure.  Each folded in turn...  that is, until the last man.

LeGoRuLeS, had just arrived to the internet Lego scene.  A newbie, he had
come out west from Darkage.  His education completed, LeGoRuLeS had a job,
and was making money not paying tuition.  Still on his student loan grace
period he was able to spend some of his new and novel income to venture out
from Darkage.  Here he sat, not knowing whose town he was in.

Larry both cringed at the effort, and delighted in the opportunity to show
LeGoRuLeS the power of a $300 prepaid account at the Bank of AucZilla.  It
started gentle at first, almost playful.  Larry would let a bid stand for a
bit, only to eventually top it by the minimum.  Growing tired, Larry started
to lay in some heavy bids, causing long cascades of bid increases as
auto-biding machinery began to smoke.  LeGoRuleS started to take it
personally, and extended himself too far out of spite.  And still the bids
came in from Larry P.

Believing that he was not defeated, but interested in saving time and money
on a lot he would eventually win, LeGoRuLeS sent a message...

"Larry seems like we both want this item... are you up for a split of the
lot?"

A not often seen smile crept on to Larry P's gnarled face (gnarled from
pulling plates apart with his teeth).  A smirk more than a smile, a barley
detectable outward indication seen when newbies ventured out of Darkage sat
down to his table to soon.

Larry never returned LeGoRuLeS' email... he just let fly with a $$5.00
