Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

Last week I had a bidder with a rating of -1. That did worry me, I must admit. Then after a day or so he got some feed back, so his rating was boosted to zero. He was outbid in the end. -- Scott A Edinburgh, Scotland. (URL) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

(...) So am I...to a point...$40 for empty boxes...I'd start having my doubts. Unfortunately, I've been left hanging more than a few times by those with no feedback. Good luck to you. Julie He/she is (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

Also for the record, Scott had appended his eBay posting to explicitly state the boxes are empty *before* anyone here pointed out the possibly misleading description. And Scott, sorry if my first contribution to this thread sounded accusatory - I (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

For the record, I have just mailed all the bidders and clarified the situation. I have also given them instruction as to how they may retract their bid. The message read: You have bid on my auction (above). I have received an e-mail which accused me (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

I would just like to say that whilst many readers may think my description was misleading, and some of have indicated that it deliberately so, it was not (and is not) my intention for this to be the case. Naturally, I want anyone who buys from me to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

(...) Which boxes? You say that the boxes you're selling are empty. Are they empty or do they contain Lego? (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

(...) I don't think EMPTY boxes. I think anyone with a clear understanding of english who wanted to make it clear he was selling EMPTY boxes would have included the word EMPTY in the description.   Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

I'll concede that it is misleading if a Lego auction can be found which is described in the same way.... but the boxes do contain Lego. (25 years ago, 20-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

I think the original description was perfectly clear to anyone with a good understanding of English. The descriptor is : "6 Lego Soccer Starter Set Boxes". The query arose once the price had risen.   Re: FA : SOCCER SETS AND SUB-SETS (all new misp/misb)

It surprises me too. But you should remember that the boxes for this set are very flimsy. Very few of these that I have seen can be described "mint". So perhaps it is worth it... if you need a box.
