  eToys sale

www.eToys.com have a 30% sale on some Aquazone, Space, a couple Castle & Town & a few Technic sets. I have never traded with this company so I don't know the service, but we'll see as I ordered a Hemlock Stronghold! (26 years ago, 5-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: LEGO in Lowell

(...) Maybe, perhaps. What sets would you put in there? I'll have to go check what's currently in England, but not MI. Steve (26 years ago, 3-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: LEGO in Lowell

(...) Unfortunately, when I was "home" (near A^2) this last winter, the inventories *were* low--Larry's leaving the area didn't do us as much good as we'd thought. On the positive side, NJ is pretty good--I got a huge haul of stuff at 90% off in (...) (26 years ago, 3-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: LEGO in Lowell

(...) Yes, I will keep my eyes open in my travels. (...) I believe I read that all remaining sets were to go back - though again, who knows! (...) O.K.! I shall report back when I've returned about mid-April. Of course, in the meantime if I should (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: LEGO in Lowell

Hi, Pam! It seems like the West Michigan stores are (generally) running lower inventory on LEGO than they used to... And the sales aren't as good. If you happen to find one of the Shell promo sets #2536 (the Divers jetski), I'd definitely be (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: LEGO in Lowell

Reporting from Kalamazoo/Plainwell - there has is hardly any selection in any Target, Walmart, TRU, etc., new or older. And the only good sale was a few weeks ago in Walmart the 5978, Adventurers Sphinx Secret Surprise, was on clearance at $35.00 - (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  LEGO in Lowell

I found a small shelf of LEGO sets in the Lowell (MI) Rite-Aid the other day. The manager indicated they had been there awhile -- I must not have stopped by in a longer time than I thought. No outstanding prices or selection, just such an anomoly I (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: Formation of local train club

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

(...) Where is here? Since we both seem to be close to Detroit, if there is something you'd like me to keep an eye out for, or vice-versa, we be able to help one another out sometime if a fabulous deal crops up. Jim (26 years ago, 12-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: Learningsmith (was Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM)

(...) RCX plus sensors would be a minimum purchase and by the time you get to that point you're almost at the cost of the RIK... besides I can always use more parts or sell them off... (26 years ago, 10-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Learningsmith (was Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM)

(...) <insert snappy comeback that I will think of about 5 minutes after pressing the Send button> (...) Yep, $160. We got the coupon in the mail. Actually, it was the second 20% coupon we got from them. We might have gotten on a mailing list (...) (26 years ago, 9-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

(...) Larry sees all, knows all, says little. (...) Wait, did you actually pay 160 then?? That would be sweet. Where did you get the coupon. I plan to get another RCX but had been holding out for a price less than 200... (26 years ago, 9-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

(...) Just wanted to be sure you were paying attention. obLocal: Picked up Mindstorms yesterday, from Learningsmith. Surprisingly, the price was the same ($199) as TRU. Didn't check any other locations. We had a coupon for a 20% discount. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

James pointed me to this newsgroup to say hi. So "Hi" I hadn't looked here since the .det newsgroup is closer to my area of town. Nothing much to report from here either, same K-mart and Service Merchandise sales (which I think are over now). -Greg (...) (26 years ago, 8-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Bigs Lots Disappointing

This one really is a GR posting: Does anyone hit the Alpine Big Lots on a regular basis? I was there last night for the first time. I wasn't terribly impressed. I guess I shouldn't make any judgement based on a single visit--I imagine this place is (...) (26 years ago, 6-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

Well, I haven't put up the sign yet, but I did buy a whole bunch of Lego sets at the Canton Super K when they were 20% off and more recently I bought some of the 25th ann. buckets to give to the kids when they get older. Not that I think this is (...) (26 years ago, 5-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

Re: "Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

(...) ExitG has reported good results from placing "Willing to buy LEGO" ads around a college campus. I don't see any reason that ads around UM should have dissimilar results. I would actually be more concerned about getting an overwhelming (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

"Willing to buy used LEGO" ad around UM

OK, so I read the last post in the last thread and got lost. Are you expecting a ood response to a posting like that, or a low turn-out response. We do have an Engineering school here :) and you knwo the engineers probably had lego blocks as a kid. (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-98, to lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)
