Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) Wow. Doing a period layout is just too cool. We (MichLUG) have talked about it, but that conversation has never gone far. I also really like the track layout going all over the place. Neat. The fact that the layout was able to get away from (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.trains)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) Now that is really impressive. The pictures look great, but I would love to be able to set up an RCX controlled layout with reversing loops, etc. Now, if I could just afford those RCX's... :-( BTW, my compliments on the layout. Wonderful job. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.trains)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) You missed the best part. The fact that this layout has TWO reversing loops and a shared line! (URL) an overview of the layout. You'll notice the figure eight line shares the tressle bridge with the main line. I used 3 RCX's with my custom (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) Hehe we must've spent at least an hour resolving track issues... Trying to figure out weather our Track Plan had 2 straights or one straight and a curve. The sawmill was designed and operated by our President Dave D. He got sick the week of (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

That is one of, if not the, best layout I've ever seen. I can tell a lot of work went into that. The only thing I could find wrong with it is the lack of more colors of certain roof pieces, which is, of course, the fault of LEGO Direct. I can't (...)   Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) Wow! This is one of the nicest layouts that I've seen yet. I really like the way that the track wanders throughout the layout without being stuck to the edges of the tables. The working sawmill is very clever. I would like to hear more about (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) I like it! Particularly the hotel and the greenery. It reminds me of my two years in Vancouver, and of a song I haven't thought of in ages: There's a place in Vancouver you all know so well It's a place where they keep rotgut whiskey to sell (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) I think we started in March or so and some of the parts of the layouts took over a month to build individually. We had to set it up on the Friday from about 12:00 Noon till 5:30. (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Pictures from VLC Surrey Museum Show

(...) Astounding. Simply astounding. Any estimate of how many hours (research and construction) were involved? (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: VIA dome cars replaced by very colourful Eurotrash

(...) Here's a few more links on that topic that I searched out: (URL) too bad about the dome cars. I fondly remember travelling through the Rockies as a kid, viewing the mountains and especially in awe of the tunnels as we looked out through the (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

VIA dome cars replaced by very colourful Eurotrash

Greetings, I've always loved the stainless steel VIA trains, with dome (aka bar) cars, that run within sight of my home in Halifax. When I saw an article in my local paper about Via replacing them with a new fleet of "Renaissance" passenger cars, I (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

If you build it, they will come...

They will come to see it, that is. This is just a heads-up/reminder/last call for anyone wanting to participate in the builders display booth at this year's Hobby Show in Toronto, ON.   Meeting for AFOL who can`t make it to Toronto.
