  Help with train show.

A couple of people have shown interest in doing a train layout at MARSFIELD - NSW. June 8-10, 2002 at the Epping Boys High School, Cnr Epping Rd & Vimera Rd, Marsfield. Open 10am-5pm (Sat/Sun/Mon). Admission $8/$4/$20. Organised by the Epping Model (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) I don't have many street plates, but I'm happy to produce a few large buildings. Put me down for 4 x 32x32 plate's worth of city buildings. (...) Are you planning on setting up Friday night or Saturday am? (...) Hmmm... I'm not likely to have (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Well, my station is a possibility (URL) but it's fairly big & needs about 10 studs clearance on one side & 24 on the other. (...) I'd like to be there for the main show weekend, but I'd probably only available Saturday & Sunday. With the (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

In lugnet.loc.au, James Howse writes all manner of good stuff about a prospective train show. Don't see myself manning a stand (being such a delicate flower, and not being a trainfiend) but there are some things I can do: kick in some dough provide (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) How does this look? (URL) call it the black & white bridge 8?) There's only about 9 bricks clearance - I didn't know how much lower you're making the river tables. But there probably won't be enough space to have any boats going underneath 8?( (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Looks entirely fine to me. The bridge shown on the layout is only across the end of the river, so I guess if we figured that the ship was moored on the sea side of the bridge, we wouldn't need to be going under the bridge, no? Richard Still (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

Firstly, sorry about the delayed response, it takes a bit of time to warm up down here in Melbourne ;-) (...) Yes I was one. (...) circuit takes about 5mins to complete. But I understand the space restrictions! (...) Hmm not too sure where i fit (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Space restrictions...why not just have the regulators at a lower level? :) (...) Benjamin Whytcross (22 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Excellent, noted. (...) It'll probably be both. Friday night to start, then ongoing "improvements" throughout sat morning. (...) Sounds good. I didn't want to speak for other's easter though... James (who likes the idea of continuing (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Looks good, though I'll have to check with Richard as to suggestions for the river. The height and length of the bridge will flow from that. At least bridges are fairly straightforward to do. James (who resisted the "cross that bridge when we (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Kinda "Old Sydney Town" idea? Great! I love it. I can do any amount of old grey track for display engines. (...) Also excellent. Thanks in advance. (...) Given the legs haven't been completed yet, it's still variable. I was thinking 13 bricks (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Good to hear from you Santosh! (...) <far future dreaming mode on/> I'm seeing a world record attempt on track length using all five of the darling harbour convention halls <far future dreaming mode off/> (...) Labour at show is good. On the (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Hell no, this sounds fantastic. Richard Still baldly going... (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Sounds excellent! (...) Not sure I understand what this last bit means? (...) Definitely not. Do we want anything (ie ships) under the bridge? If so, 13 bricks probably isn't enough, and we'll have to have a bridge with sloped approaches to (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

(...) Depends on the bridge 8?) The "black & white bridge" is fairly easily adjustable height-wise, and is built exactly 3 baseplates long with landfill at the ends to butt up against the "land-height" tables. (...) Resistance is futile.... ROSCO (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Help with train show.

Not satisfied with my truss bridge, I decided to build a cable-stayed bridge, based loosely on the Batman bridge over the Tamar river in Tassie. Here it is: (URL) problem is the load on the land-fill holding up the tower - with heavy trains, it (...) (22 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Batman Bridge

Fantastic , The Batman Bridge is the world's first cable-stayed truss bridge, utilising a 100 metre high A-frame tower , being only 30 kms from home I have crossed the Batman many 100s of times ,and actually know the group of painters who last (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

(URL) , sorry heres the link , yeah I'd forget my Lego if it wasnt connected together (22 years ago, 4-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Batman Bridge

(...) Did a quick search and found this (URL) and this (URL) (which I think may have been the trolley you mention). As you can see, I took a bit of liberty with the design - the tower leans a bit too far, and although it narrows toward the top, I (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
