For those that care enough to have read this far :0)
Originally when I set it all up, the IR tower was working 50% of the time.
Enough time so that half of the firmware could download, then it stopped
working. After that I couldn't get it working again. I actually went and
swapped the tower with a fresh one from the place I bought it at.
It turns out that the problem might have been a combination of a dodgey COM
port, and only having half of the firmware installed. I changed the cable to
COM2, and took the batteries out of the RCX for a few minutes. When I
restarted, I told the software to look at COM2 and now everything is working
just dandy. I've now moved this lego set up to the status of -BEST TOY EVER-
!!
Cheers for all the replies, and thanks for the help,
Adam

| Well, I've now had another machine that is running Win98 tell me that my IR transmitter isn't working... I've replaced -all- the batteries. Can't really think of anything else to try, other than a complete new transmitter / RCX. So I am wondering, (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.robotics)
