Jeez Louise! Can you guys all learn to, like, read?! The rules are these:

What should a nomination have in it?

a.. Name and age of the nominee.
b.. Where is the nominee from?
c.. Which Group does this nominee represent?
d.. Does this person consent to being nominated (Please do not submit a
nomination on behalf of someone you have not discussed with beforehand).
e.. Explanation of who the nominees are, what their activities are, and
why they would be a good representative of their community (at least 3
testimonials from members of nominating group are required)
f.. Key interests of the nominee (themes, building styles, and some
examples of their building)
The definition of "group" is rather vague. As far as I can see, a group is
pretty much whatever you want it to be:

Any AFOL Community Group (online or on the map) will have the opportunity to
submit nominations from their group (up to 3 people if they so choose).
A group that submits a nomination for the LEGO Ambassador program should be
established and known within the LEGO Community.

So really, if you can find 3 people to provide "testamonials" that vaguely
think they all belong to some Lego community, you can nominate. I don't see
that we have to come to some kind of consensus here on lugnet.loc.au on the
nominations.

If you want to be nominated, see if you can find 3 friends who will attest
that you are the Bees Knees and that you are all members of Whichever Group
and just get on with the nomination.

Frankly, I'd write a testamonial for just about anyone mentioned as a
potential Ambassador in these postings. There are lots of good people out
there doing good deeds in the Lego community. People contribute in different
ways, in train shows, in Brickventions, in organising local meetings, online
stuff and so on, etc. The wealth of "I propose SoAndSo" tells us that! Lets
not argue about whether running a train show is more valuable than running
BrickVention or whatever. I am sure any Australian nominated for Ambassador
is probably worthy of the role and anyone who gets such a role will Do Their
Best. We are discussing a group of basically decent human beings here. When
did you last meet a truly evil AFOL? Honestly, it will all work out.

Kerry

(...) Aw, go and spoil the joke, why don't you. The frenzy of 'nominations' has been a source of much mirth. I nominate Kerry. Al (17 years ago, 9-May-08, to lugnet.loc.au)

--snip-- (...) --snip-- (...) The 'up to 3 people' part of the rules is why I started this thread. I hoped to insure that there would be three candidates who could act on Australia-specific issues were they selected. Tim (17 years ago, 9-May-08, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) I would like to also nominate the above 3, Rosco and Richie Dulin have done great work (and brickvention would not of been as sucessful with out there work), and I've heard good things about Aaron up north. Aaron A (17 years ago, 8-May-08, to lugnet.loc.au)
