Spreadsheet to order from Lego Direct

I used Jason Catena's very useful table of sets available from Lego Direct and made an Excel 97 spreadsheet that calculates total cost of an order when you fill in how many copies you want of each set, including discount and shipping. It's at (URL) (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct) !

Re: And the July Surprise is...

I am hoping/dreading that one of the next sets will be 497. Hoping, because I would love to buy a small fleet of them. Dreading, because I just purchased my first on Ebay and would feel like an idiot. I guess better an idiot with a fleet than an (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Direct and bulk with wide availability is the direction I would rather see as they are infinitely more "core" to the LEGO product and goal of the toy. The gold is in the bricks and (...)   Re: what makes a legend?

(...) You have defined a LEGO Legend very well, any set that became a "landmark" is a good candidate, either because it was the first set in a theme or because it was a market success.
