Re: Problems with Lego Digital Designer-Help!

(...) Thanks for the reply.Man, I can actually tell what your are.I can actually see the three green plates, for the first time. If mine were even half that good, but the best I can get them is with about the bottom half of all of them just (...) (22 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Problems with Lego Digital Designer-Help!

(...) They *are* a bit difficult to see, yes. But a graphics problem can of course make it worse... This is how it looks on my screen: (URL) absolutely *no* possibility to see that the first three green squares are in fact 8x8 base plates (well, (...) (22 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Problems with Lego Digital Designer-Help!

The main problem I am having is with the squares that are supposed to show the different bricks available on the main program screen. They are very hard to see and most I cannot tell what they are unless I select one.Strange that everything else on (...) (22 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Anders, Thanks so much for your help, unfortunately none of your suggestions have helped. I am a software engineer but deal very little if at all with graphics. For the most part I do financial number crunching stuff. Your insite is helpful. (...) (22 years ago, 13-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Unfortunately problems like these almost never have anything to do with 'sophistication', it's just an effect of a couple of things: There is an uncountable number of permutations of a PC system - bus, RAM, video etc. etc. Most programmers (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Thanks for the Info Thomas, it would be nice if others with 16MB Graphic Cards could post their results. Maybe it is possible that the minimum specs need to be changed a bit. Eric Kingsley (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) I don't know who else has had success with a 16 MB graphics card, there is probably some. One of my systems had a 16 MB card and I had the same results you had. What's kind of odd is it works on my oldest system that I've got online. Windows (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Well for me the program just does not work and my machine meets or exceeds all of these requirements so there is something else at work here if you ask me. My System Windows XP (Service Pack II) Pentium 4 16 MB Graphics Card with DirectX 8.0 (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) I'd say. The budget PC I built myself two years ago exceeds all fo these specs by at least 2X. The fact that they claim it will run on 98 (not just 98SE) is far better than most software I see today. Even my brother's old Gateway that's (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Well I think I agree that it is my video driver but this is my beef... I run some fairly graphics intensive games with no problem, nothing super big graphics wise but WarCraft isn't a cupcake either. I don't see LEGO Digital Designer requiring (...) (22 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Problems like these are most often the effect of the video card and the video drivers. I have NVIDIA GeForce2 MX (I think), DirectX 9, resolution 1152x864, 32 bit colour, updated drivers, and absolutely no problems with video or saving. Make (...) (22 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) It's probably a feature. The maths for converting a point on the 2D screen to a 3D position gets rather flakey when you are looking almost horizontally - I have the same problem (and limitation) in BlockCAD. (22 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) I found the easiest way to lay the baseplates was from the underside! Yes you can add pieces 'top down' if you want - the floor sinks when you add something from the bottom. I think the 'clicking' is sometimes fantastic, and sometimes just (...) (22 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)
