Mike, In the first image, there are no shadows. What you see are reflections. The reflection of the smoke stack on the top of the engine compartment looks like a shadow because the smoke stack is darker than the abient light you see other places. (...) Mike, I like the external POV post processor idea a lot, although I'll try not to use it as a catch all for denying LPub enhancements ;-) It would be a command line mechanism with command line arguments. Mike, LPub has always used shadowless lights for building instructions. 2.0.1.5 also has the ability to override ambient, diffuse and specular reflections default values created by L3P. I now turn reflections off, set ambient to 0.7 and diffuse to (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) LPub already post processes the POV files quite a bit, so doing some more might not be a bad thing. I've thought about providing for a list of simple text substitutions, that are blindly applied to the POV file, but these would be limited to (...) I agree that it should ask. For example I keep my LDraw files in C:\Program Files\LDraw and MLCAD in C:\Program Files\MLCAD. It was a little awkward to set up, but it works great. If LDraw used a proper Windows installer then this wouldn't be an (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.inst)

This is a bit old thread, but I wonder if sombody can answer me how this Buffer Exchange command affects the partlist? Hi Mike, I've wanted the sub-model selection stuff you talked about for a while also (whether you use MPD or not.) I think it would be very handy. I totally agree with all these comments. This especially rears it's head when doing passenger coaches where I've use the same sub model 36 times in s set of 4 coaches! I've run into this problem before using Pov-Ray. What you need to do is find the line that calls the complete model (will be just before the camera statement) and remove the #if statement. I really like your tool, it will save me a lot of time and struggling and allow mw to add to my models I do, hower have a a comment on the installer you use, it sucks.. instead of placing the parts in the correct parts directories it placed them in (...) Hi Dave, Right now the installer is too simple. It needs to know where the LDraw directory is, so it can add some parts to your parts directory. It does a simple search for this: LDRAW\MKLIST.EXE on your hard disks. It cannot find it. I'd guess one (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.inst)

While it is a great idea to supress the multiple rendering of the same steps, I'm not sure there is really any added value to displaying the "x4" on the last step. I find that I always take a pass through the final rendered instruction images, in my (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.inst)
