  The Cruella d'Villa

Hi all! On my Brickshelf page ((URL)) is the Cruella d'Villa I showed at Brickfest 2007. Sort of a cross between the Swiss Villa and the Italian Villa sets of the 1970's, this has been rescaled to minifig scale and updated slightly. For example, (...)   Possible new Lego tub?...but odd choice of contents

I wonder if this new Lego tub will be available in NA soon: (URL) But I think the brick count shown on the side may be incorrect. :-) (URL) (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: A challenge to anyone interested

Hey Dave, This sucked less than your usual posts! ;) A good challenge. I go in fits and starts. I'll try to post a lot of feedback, but then get busy with other things, so it was a good reminder. I just went and gave feedback to two MOCs and will (...) (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: A challenge to anyone interested

Hi Dave, Hi all, here are my thoughts on this topic. The no-commenting-behaviour is not only a lugnet specific thing, I also observe it at the 1000steine forum. And I must admit that stand on both sides. Either posting a MOC and gaining little (...) (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: A challenge to anyone interested

(...) I more or less agree with you. I am not very active on lugnet but often what I have seen appears to be more effort into arguements between certain members than providing comments or constructive criticism of MOCs. It is a bit of a let down (...) (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: A challenge to anyone interested

(...) I would have to tend to agree completely with this. BUT... Based on the trend of lugnet not being the hub of MOC building/showcasing anymore, I can understand to a large extent why this does not happen here. This has been pointed out before, (...)   Re: A challenge to anyone interested

(...) Indeed I do, Dave. I posted a couple of Western MOC's to said newsgroup and got no replies. Of course, that newsgroup's activity is extremely low since the theme is gone for now and there doesn't seem to be a big fan base on Lugnet. I wasn't (...)   Re: A challenge to anyone interested

(...) (URL) Highly familiar> (apart from plugging the forum of evil) post. As you can probably guess I agree completely with you. It really doesn't take that much time to comment on something (except pirate MOCs in my case). When I made my post I (...) (17 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Brickworld Keynote Speaker

  A challenge to anyone interested

I don't post here on LUGNET all that much anymore, though I lurk a good bit. Over the years, I've seen (as I suspect we've all seen) many an eager AFOL happily post a message to share an MOC, only to post a less happy message a few days later when (...)   Re: UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

(...) Nope. This is about all they gave me ... except for the regular dribble of saying you must download 2.0. I looked around also ... with no luck. So, if anyone out there can find the PDF file location ... please let us know. Thanks. LEE (17 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

(...) Did they give you a link to the PDF files? My scanning program has not been able to find them yet, but they may have non-standard file names. ROSCO (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

(...) Um, I dunno. It's probably *A* goal, but it's also about reducing the cost of the set. Why print instructions if you can avoid it? Part of it is also the intended audience. Kids might not be all that likely to jump on the internet and get the (...) (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

(...) I would have to challenge your basic assertion. In the past there have been other "sets" that were a collection of parts and came without instructions for anything at all. They also released Idea Books sold seperately. This is a collection of (...) (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

(...) I bought the UTB. I also have an older computer ... so I can not load LDD. I have complained to LEGO ... with the "standard" usual response. LEE (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)

  UTB set, LDD and LEGOFactory

Hi, Why are the UTB set building instructions LDD file format only ? too expensive for them to print the BIs ? hmmm...maybe. But what about pdf BIs then ? Let me make an assertion : People buying the UTB set have to load LDD. So it's a way for TLC (...) (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Lego Top Seller Data

(...) That's one of the things about this chart that has my attention - it is surprising in quite a few ways in showing what has gotten 'hot.' (...) Thanks for posting the link there - I couldn't seem to find the order window for the Hobby Train. (...) (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.general)
