Indeed I do, Dave. I posted a couple of Western MOCs to said newsgroup and got
no replies. Of course, that newsgroups activity is extremely low since the
theme is gone for now and there doesnt seem to be a big fan base on Lugnet. I
wasnt terribly disappointed to get no replies, but like you said, sometimes a
Good job! makes it all seem worthwhile.

So heres the challenge, for all who check in on LUGNET once per day or so.
Each week, find someones announcement about an MOC and post a purely
positive (but honest) comment about it. Nothing snarky, and nothing
back-handed: no posts like it sucks less than most of your stuff.
If possible, make it about an MOC with few (if any) comments already posted.
This may require a bit of digging, but thats why its a challenge!
Its my thought that this sort of interaction will help boost the ambient
friendliness of LUGNET. And at worst, itll make someone feel proud of an
MOC that theyd thought no one had noticed.
|
Ill add to this challenge as well with an example from my own postings.
Whenver I post something and receive feedback positive or otherwise, I make a
point to reply. I want to thank each person who takes the time to offer their
comments as a way of encouraging them to participate.

| I don't post here on LUGNET all that much anymore, though I lurk a good bit. Over the years, I've seen (as I suspect we've all seen) many an eager AFOL happily post a message to share an MOC, only to post a less happy message a few days later when (...)
