Hi all!

On my Brickshelf page (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=matthewcrandall9) is the Cruella d’Villa I showed at Brickfest 2007. Sort of a cross between the Swiss Villa and the Italian Villa sets of the 1970’s, this has been rescaled to minifig scale and updated slightly. For example, there’s no antenna; it was replaced by a sattelite dish. There’s a crew in the backyard, enjoying a dinner that was burned...uhh, grilled...on the spiffy new stainless grill.

This was built for the Brickmaster Build-Off...the ideas was to take a favorite classic set, and redo it as an update. It had to be less than a thousand elements.

I had fun building this--and hope you’ll enjoy the pictures.

Play Well and Prosper,

Matthew

(...) Nifty! Simple and sweet. In these days of abundance, this invokes the classics. Well played! (18 years ago, 11-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)
