I wonder how much confusion would arise from having two sets of such similar
colours on the shelves at the same time (I imagine the transitional period is
going to be complicated enough). I can see why people with alerady large
amounts of grey would be disappointed, but this change is hardly going to
make pre-existing collections worthless to build with.

Once I got over the initial surprise, the cynic in me is starting to take over.
Legoland parks and their Master Model Builders would fall into the category of
people with already large amounts of grey, wouldnt they? I would really
like to know: a. What do the MMBs really think about the switch; b. How
are the Lego company builders going to handle the transition period - surely we
wont be seeing a mottled-gray appearance on official models; and c. What
about repairs to existing gray models at Legoland parks and elsewhere - Mount
Rushmore, for instance, is made of zillions of old gray bricks.
Part of me
wants to believe that the Master Model Builders will have to get along like the
rest of us, but the cynic in me believes that classic grays will always be
available for in-house projects. If I do wind up getting a trip to LLC for my
40th birthday next year (given my recent unemployment, looking doubtful), my
eyes will definitely be peeled for new gray. James Wilson Dallas, TX
