(Quick sidenote: PLEASE be careful with two toddlers playing with System
bricks! My kids are just 3 and almost 1, and I've had to keep my LEGO away
from both for safety's sake...not that they don't seem to inexplicably • find
it! My daughter is just going to have to stay in Duplo/Explore until her
brother is old enough for System as well.)

Are your concerns about swallowing bricks or some other reason?

Choking hazard. Though I'm the first one to ignore toy age guidelines if I
feel the child can handle something, most System bricks are small, pointy
and just the right size for blocking a windpipe.

Anything small enough to be swallowed will process (though you probably
won't want it back!), but I've watched both of my kids choke on LEGO system
level parts during even supervised play.

Matt
