  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

A discussion between my and a moderator about a questionable pic... (...) Do we forget KIDS like Lego toys too? I was sharing my adult version of this hobby with my young cousin, while being overlooked by my uncle. I was showing off the recent (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

In the post to which I am responding, I am unable to follow who is asserting what point. But in any case, what's wrong with any of the pictures -- whether shirts, model guns, or in-game explosions? I hope that it is _not_ Kevin's goal to make the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) I'd just like to add that that's my favourite style of t-shirt, body one colour, arms another. Steve (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) whether (...) way (...) Hi Chris If a picture of an AFOL is named 'me', it is quite self-explaining, it shows an AFOL. And an AFOL is (at least in my eyes) Lego-related and on-topic. Juergen may not look like Claudia Schiffer, but he was not (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Yah, OK. I guess I agree. I wonder what Kevin's stance on pictures like that actually is. It does seem reasonable to have a single smallish picture of an AFOL among the other images. But really, we don't (at least, I don't) know the whole (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Just our of curiosity, I checked my own "me" image at BS. And it's still there! But then again, it has a LEGO related background, so that may explain why it's still online. Fredrik (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

I'd like to add a new topic to this discussion and to add my comments. I've started work on a train layout design for our club so I'm constantly updating photos in my layout folder. Now everytime I upload a photo, the folder becomes private and no (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) One suggestion would be to make a new folder each time. That way when you put up new content, the old folders will still be accessible. You could have a main folder named "Layout" and then subfolders named "Update August 10, 2002", "Update (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Just a question here, what in a sense makes a picture of a lego fan "questionable" to the lego community? Yes, I could understand if a picture had pornography (god forbid), or an explicitely violent or suggestive scene, but photos? If this is (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

I've been trying very hard not to reply to these posts but I think I have waited long enough. There are many angles to look at this: #1 In the last year there has been ALOT of pictures to me that have nothing to do with Lego. ranging from pictures (...)   Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Hear, Hear!! It's nice to have, but it's not like we have a RIGHT to post anything. This is a free service...I'm thankful it's there, because I couldn't do it any better myself. If you can, good for you. But in the meantime, I'm glad to have a (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Not necessarily, so relax. All you need to do is deep link to the actual .jpg (or whatever), and people will be able to see it instantly. And keep repeating to yourself, "Brickshelf is a free service, and I'm *lucky* to have it". Leg Godt, (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

I'm a little confused here. In what way is that picture of a woman in a lego t-shirt a 'sex' picture? Yikes, is this what it's coming too? The lunatic fringe? Kevin, I do not envy you your task. But I do appreciate your effort. Ken (...) - (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Ummmm....How can we even be sure that is a woman? It could be a man with a medical condition. I know a guy like that... (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) ??? Um, *not* a picture of a woman, but a picture of a woman's *chest*. Think to yourself: Would Kevin have censored it if the woman's head were included in the picture? Would Kevin have censored it if the picture were focused entirely upon (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) I do see the T-shirt, not the chest. (...) Or maybe a fertile immagination? (...) Or reality? Is it possible that you might have found something central in the pic, that was probably not? I mean, I actually found it funny: what is "seen" in (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) This is a REALLY funny thread. I can barely figure out what people are arguing for or against any longer... BTW, this image was not removed -- if it had been, we wouldn't all be able to see it for ourselves and pass our own stupid judgments (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Anyone that actually finds that picture offensive should have their head examined. Just remember, you are all victims of your own imaginations. -Mike Petrucelli (Then again I am still trying to figure out what kind of whack job would find J.D. (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Actually, someone who finds that picture offensive may have nothing at all wrong with his or her head other than another point of view. For example, from a feminist perspective it could be argued that the image is offensive because it (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Then may I recommend Cormac McCarthy's uplifting "Blood Meridian" as a purgative? Guaranteed to eclipse all teeth from the sidewalks of your imagination! Dave! (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf censorship policy rules.....

(...) Actually, my perspective was pretty much the same one you elucidated, Maggie. I am not a feminist nor do I *personally* find it offensive, but I can sure see without much argument how someone could (especially when surfing with young kids) I (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.general)
