    Bionicle Sets —Rex Young
I had a thought and i was wondering why does the US have to wait until August to get the Bionicle sets....i am hoping to get some from a couple of people but still it is a mystery to me...anyone else have any thoughts?? Rex ryoung@tbscc.com (23 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Bionicle Sets —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Well, normally, Europe has to wait to get the new sets, while the US gets them first. I don't see any reason for that either. This time it goes the other way around. I suppose it's related to marked volumes: They cannot stack up enough sets to (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) That's interesting. I wonder if they're going to RIS these things? Or take it in the direction of LEGO racers (*shudder*)...as to why they come out in Europe first, I'm pretty sure (disabuse me of this notion be it wrong) that Slizer (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) Umm, you left out sailing around, what are you, some kind of landlubber? You don't "drive" ships, and they don't fly, vroom, or whoosh either (well, ok, so Captain Ahab and the especially cross piratical space dudes do fly, vroom, or whoosh (...)       (...) Yes, remote control. The link to pictures is here. They were gotten from the Canadian toy fair. They are a repeat of images shown on Brickshelf a couple of weeks ago and pulled off.        (...) I hope my ambivalence on the subject is clear. I, too, have always preferred the minifigures without names and without predefined stories, enemies, etc. However is the pleasure I take in the Star Wars line based solely on the strength of the (...)         (...) Yes, but to be honest, I'm not sure it's off-topic and thus I don't think it needs to be relegated to .o-t.debate. Best to keep it where it is (er, was...), where LEGO-interested folks will continue to comment. (But for actual o-t xposts, you (...)            Re: Lego Stories (was Re: Remote Control Figures? (Was Re: Bionicle Sets)) —Thomas Main
(...) If I were an executive at LEGO I would not consider the AFOL market a group to which to cater. AFOLs are only incidental to the core market and marketing that LEGO has developed over DECADES. AFOLs may just be a temporary anomaly. Yes, we seem (...)            Re: Lego Stories (was Re: Remote Control Figures? (Was Re: Bionicle Sets)) —Jonathan Lill
(...) So the problem seems to be that enjoyment of the sets is limited to the extent one can contextualize or decontextualize them. You didn't particularly enjoy star wars so this limits your enjoyment of the sets. Others have enjoyed the sets (...) (23 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.general)
