That would be about 2900 sets and approximately 500,000 pieces.  Windows and
doors- about 6000, of which 4000 are from the classic era (from before 1978).

I never took a complete inventory, but I did do some particular piece
inventories.  Here's a sneak preview of what I have (chosen especially for you
Kevin - I know you like rare slopes).  Rob Farver - "Mr. Sloped Bricks" please
don't read beyond this point!:

Quarter circle (macaroni) bricks - Red - 80, Yellow - 150, Black - 200,
White - 150, Blue - 50, Grey - 20, Clear - 50.

Wow!  I actually come kinda close on some of these!  I have 30 Blue and 19+
gray ones!  Cool!  'Course, I have no Clear or Yellow ones, but I do have four
Green and four Dark Gray!  Dunno my totals on Red, Black or White.

Low slope outside corners (3x3) - Red - 24, Yellow - 18, Black - 16.

Woohoo!  I have more red ones than Gary!  And I have 2 Blue ones, also.

Regular slope outside corners (2x2) - Red - 300, Yellow - 20, Blue - 120,
Black - 80, White - 140, Grey - 4, Tan - 60.

Yeoch!  I wish I had some of those!  I do have more gray ones than Gary,
though.  Where'd you get the yellow and white ones?

Steep slope outside corners (2x2x3) -  Red - 24, Yellow - 42, Black - 4,
White - 8.

I have 2 Black, 4 White, and 28 Blue.  I can't believe I have more than Gary in
one of these colors!

Inverse regular slope outside corners (2x2). - Red - 60, Black - 100,
White - 120, Grey - 12.

I can't even compare to this.  Although I do have four yellow ones.

Small Classic Windows (1x1x1) - Red - 320, White - 290, Yellow - 4.

I have a measly 2 Red ones.

Medium Classic Windows (1x2x2) - Red - 350, White - 280, Yellow - 250,
Blue - 50, Black - 2.

Tons of red, a few yellow and white, and about 24 Blue.  I'm halfway there!!

And what would be my rarest piece?  Probably a 1x1x2 (tall & thin) classic
window in black.  I only have one of these, purchased from a German LEGO
dealer train parts pack box of miscellaneous items (along with the two 1x2x2
black windows).

Gary Istok

My rarest windows would include my 2 each of 1x1, 1x2(can only find one,
though), and 1x1x2 windows in red.

Jeff

(...) I'm glad I made somebody's day! Since I don't buy Castle sets, you guys got me beat in a few areas. The low sloped and steep sloped corners in blue are going to be my next acquisition in 2000. They are in Ninja and the new Castle sets. You (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
