This is 100% true. I do actually work for a major software company (not
hard to figure out which one if you spend a minute looking) and purposefully
don't use my email from that company in internet correspondence. While I do
sometimes answer questions about our products I do it from this address
(alex@phred.org) because its not related to anything and doesn't make the
response appear as an official answer. I leave the official answers to our
support folks.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were Lego employees who read and posted on
RTL and lugnet.com, but they probably just keep quiet about who they really
work for. I expect that this is true for almost all major newsgroups and
mailing lists about a specific companies products.
