Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) cut cut cut cut* (...) HAHAHAHAHA! I love it, too funny... I found it a little late, but still, amusing... okies, that is the negative side that is running through this site as quick as larva from a volcano... so now do the positive side (even (...)   Re: how to transport lego by air

"Jonathan Wilson" <jonwil@tpgi.com.au> wrote in message (...) I always try to take the important models in the cabin as hand luggage.   how to transport lego by air

I am going to be going on a holiday over xmas, part of which includes meeting some AFOLs and hopefully going to a BUGS meeting (Brisbame lego club). Being the kind of person that I am, I want to make some kind of moc or mocs to take over and show (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

Even if your story was meant to be sarcastic or humoristic, about one thing I totally agree with you. I was very disappointed with the introduction of 9V trains in 1991. The models look great, but what happened with the remote-controlled level (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: And you call yourselves fans...

(...) FYI, I live in the US. I find the tone of your reply to be exactly what I'm against: a thinly veiled series insults. -Orion (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

My feelings on the recent brouhaha [positive!]

Hey all, I just wanted to say that I find the whole explosion of rhetoric, vitriol, and support over the recent color change inspiring, saddening, and heartening. It means that this community of ours is indeed a widely varied combination of (...) (22 years ago, 23-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: A far more insidious change to the brick!

I know exactly what you mean and I agree wholeheartedly. It's just that for me the look of the click-hinge in these pieces detracts from the potential realism. Dave "Orion Pobursky" <orion@dontaddthis.p...ursky.com> wrote in message (...) (22 years ago, 23-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

  What is this piece?

You would think I would know where to post a message like this, but I went all through the list of newsgroups and there's nowhere really obvious. So I guess it goes here in .general. This piece is a brown goblet-shaped object with 4 slots in the top (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

I agree that the new colors are great, but replacing current colors is a bad idea. Age: 30 (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

I don't mind new colors but I really don't like changing existing ones. It screws everything up! The point of collecting something is to continue adding to it, not having to start over again. I'm 21, and have been collecting Lego for 16 years. And I (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info

Well after reading a few of the posts (I found this just now, and I don't have time to read all of the posts so I apologize if I'm repeating what others have said), I have decided that while there could be some problems with the new colors there (...)
