Re: Why I support LEGO through thick and thin.

I agree with you totally. This is a minor issue and shouldn't be a cause for so much trouble. Clangador (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: What Did Consumer Affairs Say When You Called???

(...) I just called and they could not confirm yet if track is going to be affected (I doubt it will remain unaffected) and they will contact me later about it as soon as they get information. I think the call centre is getting enough calls that (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Please Call Consumer Affairs: Vote for the Lego System with your wallet

Well I just got off the phone with Consumer Affairs. I approached them not as an AFOL, but as a father of a 7yr old. I explained that I purchased a metroliner for my son previously and now see news on-line from Lego that the brick colors won't be (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general) !

What Did Consumer Affairs Say When You Called???

Like it says above. I did post some of what was spoken to me when I called on Thurday- (URL) But I'm wondering if anyone else got what I was told. Adr. (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) What I was implying is that most customers probably won't be missing the old colors. Who knows, maybe the new colors were shown to be very popular in their studies? (...) I don't think anyone outside of Lego (or even inside too) can say (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) An excellent point. I am one who falls into this category myself. I have little to do with LUGNET (or any other online community), though I have lurked for a great many years. I rarely speak my mind, because I have more interest in playing (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

Ondrew, Count me in. TLG should definately go back to the old colors. Changing standard colors like this severly undermines the part interchangeability which is the cornerstone of the Lego system. - Brian Williams, age 27 (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info

Jake, Thank-you for your response. But this situation is positively ludicrous. Color standards are every bit a part of the Lego system as stud diameter, etc.. I find it difficult to believe that a focus group specifically fingered the greys as not (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: question about Spider-man set 4851

(...) Mine also has the clear panels as pictured on the box. Tim Strutt (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) So if most of their customers don't care about the colors, how does this change help them to sell more LEGO? (...) Yet it is a statistically significant sample of their worldwide market. If 85% of LUGNETters think this is a bad idea, and 100% (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Robotex2003 Winner: Lego

Hi all! I am not in to lego robotics myself, but I want to share this: At the Robotex 2003 ((URL) ) competion, the winner was the Lego robot. I did not follow the show that much, but I did notice how efficient the Lego robot was, how fast it found (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.general, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Well I didn't say that they didn't ask any AFOLs, but they apparently didn't ask Jake. I am certain that he could have very quickly and inexpensively given them an idea of the kind of dismay that this would cause for a significant majority of (...)   Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Do you know for certain that AFOLs were not involved in the market research and focus groups for this? It's been pointed out that supposedly there are many AFOLs that aren't online here. Just because no one on Lugnet knew beforehand... I don't (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Yes, and when he found out it appears he made those internal calls and relayed the information to us. The point I'm making is that I don't see why Lego PD would have to call up Jake to inform him every time a product change is made or (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) For some reason that struck me as an odd statement :) o well. Add my name to the list as well. Allister McLaren - Age 34, and breeding a crop of little Lego fans. (2 and counting) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: NELUG displays at 11/03 Greenberg Train Show in Wilmington MA.

(...) I know, bad form replying to myself. I got a request, however, to increase the size of the images. I nearly double the size of the images on the web site so if you need a little more detail it is their. Eric (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) The following is my personal 2 cents, and nothing else. I am perfectly happy that lego is rereleasing old sets, and I hope they continue to do so. For those of us who don't either want to spend our life savings on a misb or get a second hand (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) How, exactly, are the replacement colors "better?" I really would like to know. - Chris. (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Exactly. Jake is in charge of Community Development. If LEGO wanted to do some market research, why didn't they tap into his direct contact with the community? Jake is a walking focus group in daily contact with their most avid consumer base. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX) !

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) R O F L M A O ! I for one won't stop buying LEGO's untill one of the following happens: -my wife forbids it (yeah...right) -I have to choose between paying for food and paying for Lego -LEGO returns to wooden toys (URL) goto-lab> (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)
