Re: White House for sale? The Lego version of course!!!!!

(...) Hmmm, are you talking about the life sized Darth Vader that was at Hamleys in London over the summer? (I happened to be there and saw it ... I'm sure my GF and I looked very much the tourists when we took our picture next to it) ... they had a (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: White House for sale? The Lego version of course!!!!!

(...) Yes, just south of DC, stop by IKEA while you are there :-) (Ivar rules) They sell the majority of the current line and some recently discontinued sets as well. "The Store" is ALWAYS worth a pitstop! :-) Very easy to get in trouble...... not (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: White House for sale? The Lego version of course!!!!!

(...) This is the outlet placed in VA just off I-95?? So just what else does this place sell???? It might make a pit stop worthwhile on those visits south. Any further info appreciated. John (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: White House for sale? The Lego version of course!!!!!

(...) I always knew that during the Clinton era, the White House was for sale... but this is the era of "w" ... "meet the new boss, same as the old boss", I guess. :-) (...) Well, if I had somewhere to PUT it, maybe. What rights do you get with the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

White House for sale? The Lego version of course!!!!!

Hey all, I found out today that the Lego Outlet in Potomac Mills is selling their Lego White House! No kidding. :-) This model was the one on tour for "The American World Show" a few years back and was on display at "The Store" during Brickfest (...)   Re: Ack!!! Being slowly tempted by another toy line!!!

(...) Gotta agree about those interest killers, what did it for me was both the Star Wars Fan Club exclusive figures (outrageous prices, forced purchases) and the Episode One overkill (not very interesting). KB just blows by itself, it needs no (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: Ack!!! Being slowly tempted by another toy line!!!

(...) Yoda, yes, you seek Yoda! Dude, don't do it. Buy more LEGO. The Hasbro stuff will be on $1.99 clearance by the summer. $8 Phantom Menace figs and obscene KB sales completely killed my desire to buy anything from that line. I've relegated my (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: Anybody Else Guilty of This?

(...) This proves that those master builder sets are just too big to ignore. Tom probably found himself passing by it frequently, felt the weight of its stare, and had a little too much free brain-matter when the thought struck him. Odd yes. Fun (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Ack!!! Being slowly tempted by another toy line!!!

It's not even LEGO like, or a competator brand, but a Hasbro toy! The new Star Wars figures are so nifty looking, that I find myself weighing the possible cost of "all the ones I don't have" against another couple of LEGO TIE Fighters. I am a (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) It's a more archaic spelling, IIRC, and usually used in plays or poems where it fits the meter & rhythm better than just 'damsel'. According to dictionary.com, its etymology is thus: Middle English damoisele, from Old French damoiselle, from (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) Thanks, Suz! Every little thing that relieves some stress is a bonus! But I had a bit of trouble with this one, I'd never come across the spelling "damosel". I've always spelt it "damsel". Where does the alternative spelling come from? (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

Re: Anybody Else Guilty of This?

(...) Very amusing ! Unpatriotic ? Only the French designer could be offended. Maybe someone should design a Statue of Liberty mecha, with a torch/club to keep away unwanted vessels. pete.w (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Anybody Else Guilty of This?

Hi All, I just wondered if anyone else gets carried away with their legos sets and does some tampering for amusement! I hope this doesn't seem unpatriotic! It was just a lark! I thought some of you might enjoy it! Check out this site: (URL) sorry (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: new trains?

I'd love to see them adopt some DCC-controlled motors, so that we don't have to do the surgery ourselves (even though Thomas Cook at WAMALTC has posted an excellent pictorial guide for those who dare to try!) The current motors also pass the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) While I like the idea you've suggested, I'm still a bit wary of narrowing down the wordlists for any particular puzzle. First because it would make it more difficult to fill the grids (we're teetering on the edge now), and secondly because I (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)
